I loved this movie, even though uneven at times. I eagerly awaited my DVD, and when I popped it in the machine, my Panasonic A110 couldn't play it. It would make a horrible racket and spin incorrectly. My CD player couldn't handle it, either (I tested it for defects). Amazon was great in sending a new one out which I should get soon. Any other problems suffered by anyone?

Important please read this: Not quite Blue Ray quality! I have been replacing my DVD's with Blue Ray versions for some time now. Yes this movie is amazing, the problem is of the quality of the conversion from film to DVD is poor. This movie looks grainy on an HD television. Does that what "Sapphire Series" means? I will try to find a better transfer BlueRay and post it here.

Great movie at an even better price. It's one of the few movies that I feel like owning on disc, this movie was so well done that it's a no-brainer to own.
So an update on this product, while the movie is still wonderful =) - the quality of this blue-ray is horrible. I thought it might be my HDMI cables I have running from my blue ray player but it definitely isn't (other movies are extreme quality). This DVD is horribly pixilated to the point it's not even worth watching. Looking at the disc itself, you can clearly see lines that shouldn't be there under the surface (I just opened the sealed package, never touched anything but the very edges of the disc to insert it). I might try cleaning it - but I'm sure this is not something on the disc, but "in" the disc itself. Maybe a glitch in quality control, I'm not sure.

Did not realize that they made special DVD that will not play in a standard USA DVD player. Got it as a christmas present and was disappointed that we could not watch on christmas day.

I hated the sapphire series-concept. bought this dvd for the blue ray-aspect pf moving all of my old dvds to blue ray, from the old style. popped it in my machine and my blue ray player spent the rest of the day trying to play that disk--but didn't want to because my blue ray wasn't connected to the internet apparently. there was no trouble-shooting measure to get around this either. what a waste of time and money. I wanted to see that movie too.

Received one - sent it back for one that supposedly was fixed - that one had issues as well. Video and audio cut out at least a dozen times. Also there were parts that just didn't look good. Looks like trying to take an older movie and convert it into Blu-ray quality is a problem. Sent the second one back as well. Would love to get this movie in Blu-ray because it is one of my favorite movies, but if they can't convert it to Blu-ray I guess I will just stick with my old DVD.

It wouldn't download to my kindle. :( I think Amazon should confirm with you first that your movie has downloaded and is running properly BEFORE charging you for it.

The blu ray picture is streaked and unwatchable,as in fires that run the full vertical height of the screen. There is a light blue hue that fades the screen. Just awful. Never buy again as the Amazon listed product is wholly horrible and unwatchable. Shameful marketing of the lousy Sapphire version of this movie so long after the corrected version has been available. I believed that I was buying a quality disc and not a lousy left over from the initial release to blu ray.
