Danny rescued Samuel from a burning building - thinking he is a she. That thought soon. Alters when visiting him in hospital. Milo is one of the police investigating the fire for arson.
The twist here is that Milo and Danny have a relationship that is strained and the introduction of Samuel into their lives changes them dramatically.
Samuel is escaping from a world he never wanted to be a part of. A world where he constantly lived in fear. After a year of being on the run he thought that maybe, just maybe he was free - how quickly those thoughts disappear.
This is an intriguing story that had me not wanting to put the boom down. I loved it.
This is a story of three men trying to overcome their past and move into the future. It's a story of learning how to love again, adjusting to new circumstances and being willing to change to allow others in. The relationship that these three men have together is heartfelt, endearing and extremely frustrating at times.
Yes there is love, fighting, sadness, tragedy and everything else that exists to formulate a brilliant novel.
This is my first Nicole Colville novel. But it most definitely will not be my last.
A 5***** star read for me.
I will start off by saying Ms. Colville rocked this Ménage, this had the perfect fit and developments in here leaving no one left to feel less wanted or less desire do. This story had the perfect balance in it, at times I'm weary on reading Ménage stories afraid of someone being left out but this author did an amazing job.
We have Daniel a very sexy hot fireman that will heat you up add to that his partner the powerful hot and sexy policeman Milo. These two have been together on and off for six years something is always missing between them both..well except for the scorching hot sex that always seems to work for them, but.... Still there is that connection they can't seem to get right which leads them on the never ending emotional roller coaster of insecurities.
Everyone has a past, and some are running from it, desperate not to be found. For Samuel, his monsters from the past are real and continue to chase him.
It takes two caring men to save him, but.... Samuel is not the only one needing saving. Daniel finds Samuel and saves him but is soon very drawn to this beautiful man, something inside him pulls and he can't explain it. These two form a special caring and protective bond and it's at a time when Daniel and Milo are on very rocky grounds. I fell in love with Samuel from the very beginning I wanted to reach out and hold him and protect him, which is exactly where Daniel plastered himself. Now we have Milo... well it took me awhile to warm to him but when you see through his hard shell you will fall hard.
Nicole wrote this story in such a way I felt like I was right there with these three men crying with them holding them and well let's just say the sex scenes were WOW!!! .
This story starts off by Daniel saving Samuel but in actuality it really Samuel who saves Daniel and Milo. I absolutely loved how Ms. Colville had just the right amount of angst where you will be holding on for dear life and holding your breathe but have no fear great things come to those who wait. The character development in this story is done so brilliantly, the growing feelings and emotions between these three main characters was absolutely superb.
I can't recommend this book enough it definitely deserves higher than the five star rating.
So... Don't delay go "One Click" this gem Now!!!!
This is a bit darker story, involving human trafficking - a challenging problem in many shades.
Samuel is a victim of human trafficking. He has been kidnapped at fifteen (actually by his father's killer) and turned into junkie and prostitute. By chance he managed to escape and got help to get out the addiction. But his tormentors are on his heels and they find him. They decide to kill him by setting fire on the building where he is hiding - not caring how many lives will get lost.
Daniel is the fireman who saved Samuel's life. In more than one way.
Milo is a police officer of mixed origins, who has had an affair going on and off with Daniel for many years. They seem never be able to settle down with each other. Mostly bad communication.
Daniel and Milo both are attracted to Samuel - and the feeling is mutual. But if the path has been easy, there would be no story, would it?
The bad guy wants his toy back when he discovers that his goons had deceived him with regards to Samuel's whereabouts. And he almost succeded to take Samuel somewhere where neither Milo or Daniel could reach him.
The story revolves around victim of trafficking Samuel, and his relationship with fireman Daniel and police officer Milo. I liked how the relationship developed slowly, and how the issues of dependency and gratitude were dealt with. The story is very well written, the characters are fleshed out and engaging, and the plot is interesting and doesn't feel rehashed.
Yes, there are some issues that could have used some more attention, like colleagues, family and friends' reaction to suddenly having a ménage in their midst. And the age difference between the characters, especially Samuel and Milo. But what really kept me from giving the book 5 stars was the lack of that final edit.
This book IS well written, there's not many spelling errors (in fact I can't remember any), but the occasional incorrect word placement or word repetition is definitely present, and it would take SO little effort to get rid of these! It would bring the book to another level and would make reading it all the more enjoyable.
That being said, I have already bought the next book in the series, and can't wait to get started on it!
