The book is well-plotted, keeping the reader engaged. The book also comes to a satisfying conclusion. If you like strong female heroines and fist-pumping action in a science fiction setting, you’ll love this book.
The only problem I found in the book was when the person misused the “I” pronoun after a preposition. You wouldn’t say, for example, “the book was for I.” Yet, as well-written as this book was, the author makes that mistake several times when she uses “I” in a plural setting, e.g. “the book was for Kenzie and I.” Just because it’s popular, doesn’t make it right. It always disappoints me when a terrific author like Ms. Eversley writes like this. She should have said, “the book was for Kenzie and me,” no matter how she feels it sounds to the author.
That one exception aside, this is an excellent book. I recommend it to everyone who loves action-adventure science fiction.
I noted that one of the reviewer’s, who read an advance copy, noted editing concerns in her comments. I believe these issues have all been cleared up in the “live” version. That’s a large part of what an advance copy is all about - resolving bugs. Notifying the author of any edits or inconsistencies found, helps them produce a better final product. That being said, I also received an advance reader’s copy. I submitted edits to the author, so she could update her “live” copy on Amazon.
I have truly enjoyed this series and the side books of each of the main characters. To further support this writer and let you, the reader, know that my recommendation is heartfelt. I’ve purchased the complete set of the "Watcher Series".
It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a series like I have this one.
I can only hope AJ has more great work coming.
The action never stops in this last edition.
The twists and turns had me guessing until the very end.
I can’t give away any spoilers, but I can say that this episode ran the entire gamut of emotions.
There was joy, heartbreak, humor, anger, romance, heroism, villainy, you name it!
Thanks AJ for making my reading time a wonderful experience.
It was like taking a vacation without leaving my bed and that’s good because I’m disabled and bed bound.
AJ, your story allowed me to leave my dismal reality for a brief time and for that I’ll be forever thankful to you.
Everyone, please read AJ’s Watcher series, you’ll be very happy you did.
