Now, I have to say. My number one pet reading peeve is reading books out of order. I will shamelessly admit that normally, I avoid reading books out of sequence when I haven’t had a chance to read them in order. There are only select authors that I have that much faith in and Ms Edwards is one of them.
This is book number 7 in the series but don’t let that stop you. Yes, there are some spoilers from cross over characters but I actually don’t mind that sometimes. It sure is going to get me to read the series from book one!
For me, Nicole Edwards appears to write not wrong. I love the way she writes. The stories just flow and they give great insight into the characters. She is able to find the perfect balance between drama, comedy, sexy times all while keeping things unique.
Kennedy is a great character. From her introduction, she won me over. Sawyer on the other hand … he had a lot of redeeming to do. I love the growth that they have. Normally I’m not a fan of flashbacks but again, Ms Edwards did this seamlessly.
The flashbacks add to the tension. There is great insight into their mentality and how spineless Sawyer actually was. I laughed out loud how Sawyer made his claim saying that he will keep asking. I do wish Kennedy made him work a little harder but it’s her inventory to take and if she thinks he’s changed, I have to believe her.
One who I am now interested in knowing more about is Grayson. I want to see him get his. In saying that, I do think he got his deserves when Sawyer didn’t make him number one any more. He had to fly solo and really see things for what they were.
In keeping with the way Edwards writes a sex scene, good lord! Needs to have a warning on the front cover! Pack a change of unders.

This is the seventh book in the Alluring Indulgence series but, for me, Sawyer has made his way to the front of the line of Walker brothers. This story can be read as a stand-alone but you will definitely want to catch up on all the brothers after reading this sexy, funny and heartwarming addition to the set. Sawyer Walker and Kennedy Endsley have a lot of history together. Growing up in the same small town, Sawyer was a handsome popular guy even as a teenager. Kennedy, on the other hand, was a bookworm, tall and smart, and an easy target for the relentless teasing dished out by Sawyer and his friends. When Kennedy returned years later with a doctorate in veterinary medicine she was a beautiful, confident woman and had no interest in anything Sawyer had to offer. She was back eight years now and Sawyer was determined to find happiness with the elusive Kennedy – he just needed to get her to talk to him!

I loved this story! The characters, as always, are not perfect. Sawyer admitted what he and his friends did to Kennedy as teenagers was awful and Kennedy didn’t let him off the hook easily even though sixteen years had gone by since they left high school. Bullying is not something that is simply shrugged off and the issue of trust was front and center to their relationship. Their story was inter-woven with their families and catching up with all the Walkers felt like going home. So much is going on with the Walker brothers and their ever-growing family – it was great to catch up and find out what is going on with everyone. The road for Sawyer and Kennedy hit a few bumps as trust, or lack of it, cause problems along the way. True love, smoldering sex, relationship drama and everything in between are all part of life and family. This book, like the whole series, gifts us that in spades. I hope this won’t be the last we see of the Walkers – thank goodness there are more!

Sawyer is the 7th book in the Alluring Indulgence series. I am not sure if it could be read as a stand alone. I've read all of the other books in this series and I just feel that the family dynamic reads more smoothly if you learn about them in each of their individual stories. The family carries over into each book, so we get a glimpse of what is going on in the characters we've already fallen in love with along with characters that we have yet to know more about.
Sawyer Walker has a sexy, ladies man reputation. Having shared many of those ladies with his friend Grayson, he isn't the long term, one woman, relationship type. In the previous books, we learned that he fiercely loves his family and he is not afraid to put himself out there for anyone he cares about. He has set his sights on the local Veterinarian, Kennedy Endsley (The Sheriff's daughter) and she, of course wants no part of Sawyer Walker. But why?
In this book, we learn why and it's goes back to grade school. Sawyer may not have done all the right things and stood up for what is right at a young age, but I LOVE that Kennedy is the type of woman to make him work for it. This story was funny, and loving and it gave Sawyer the opportunity to make things right. It also had a little bit of mystery and suspense. It was an overall enjoyable book to read.

This series is firmly etched into my all-time favourite ever series and not just only for the extremely sexy brothers but the whole family. I would just love to be part of this amazing family – The Walkers.

Sawyer first caught my eye in the first book when he was stood at the roadside wearing a sign declaring ‘Will work for sex’ and ever since then I have yearned to read his book and well, whoo hoo here he is!

Sawyer has seen the majority of his brothers meet their respective others and fall deep in love, which has left him with a void, a void he so desperately has been wanting to be filled by Kennedy, the sheriff’s daughter and the local veterinarian. For eight long years he has watched her, attempted to woo her but nothing will break the headstrong and determined woman. He knows he has a part to play in that, after all wasn’t he part of the band of students that used to make her life hell at school? How could she ever forgive him? But Sawyer is not that boy anymore, he has grown knowing he needs to redeem for the past, a past that deeply affected the only woman who he has held a torch for these last lonely eight years. But now he is determined to win her around.

Kennedy was a studious child which carried her right through to college and finally to running her own veterinary surgery back in her home town. She has always been aware of the Walker brothers, especially Sawyer who she cannot forgive for his part in her tortured school life. But she has overcome that past and as such she returned to her hometown to show them just how far she has come with her life.

This book was one of my favourite of the Walker brothers and I think not only Sawyer but Kennedy has a part in that.
