I purchased two more pair on Amazon for a 30 day trip Ireland where I lived out of a backpack. I washed them in sinks and hung them up to dry several times during the trip. The Saxx Quests air dried quickly depending on humidity and temperature.
Let me answer the question that you all want answered...yes, I think it makes sense to save the $5 or $10 and buy the 24/7 or Ultra styles over the Platinum style. They aren't better, but they aren't $10 worse either, and the cotton blend styles are still better than any other underwear on the market today. Bar none.
Last thing, and this is true of every pair of boxers I've ever owned, and that is no matter what the waist size range says for each size, buy one size larger than what you normally wear. If you typically would wear a medium size in shorts, sweats, etc., buy large boxers. This is for every style I've tried of the Saxx brand and the David Archy brand I also recently tried, but also every other brand too. It just is, so don't ask me to explain further. I have a 33-34" waist and the Large size fit me great in every style.
However, I've noticed that the Saxx mesh models (such as the Quest and Kinetic) stay put better at the edges of the legs. These can roll up a bit, which can cause the briefs to ride around some. It seems to be an issue mostly when wearing tighter pants. The other obvious downside is price, but these aren't intended to be my daily undies.
