My 2-year-old is terrified of going to the doctor, shot or not. While kids do often need shots at their doctor visits, they don't always. It's nice to have a book for the visits when she won't be getting a shot. Your child doesn't have to already be a fan of Dora to enjoy this book.

Personally, I'm not a huge Dora fan, but my daughter is, so I'm looking past the fact that it's Dora to review it.

We've had Dora goes to the dentist for awhile now, and it was really helpful when we went to the dentist the last time, so I figured this would be a good addition to our Dora library, and I was right.

Like in the dentist book, Dora introduces several of the doctor's tools (stethoscope, otoscope, reflex hammer, etc.) to the reader, as well as showing the nurse and waiting room.

Anything to help my child calm down at the doctor's office is great, and when she knows what things are, sometimes she's just calmer overall. We'll have to see at the next visit if it really worked, but at least she knows now what the otoscope is.

This is a great childrens book for addressing why we go to the doctor and what they will be doing. It just covers the basics, listening to the heart, looking in the ears and eyes, but it was enough to help ease my 3 year olds fears about going to the doctor. It's one of her favorite books now!

Kindle just taught me a valuable lesson... But the actual book, scan it and convert it to PDF. These Dora books are all impossible to read, poorly laid out and don't offer text scaling or one page at a time. I also don't like being forced into landscape mode!

I bought this book to help my kids feel calmer about going to the new doctor. We read the book, and then talked about how their appointments would go. We practiced with their toy doctor kits, and my daughter brought this book with her to her appointment. It's a very cute story and very basic so that little kids will enjoy it!

So I thought my granddaughter would enjoy this little book. I got it for her 4th birthday along with the Fisher-Price Medical Kit. She seemed pretty pleased with it and I know it will bring some fun times with her "other Grandma"!

From traveling to the dentist to leaving the dentist office.
All steps including what types of tools will be used!
Great for my children who needed a book that wasn't too wordy, but taught the entire process.
Way better than this book:

I recommend the Dora Doctor book too!
