About the Author
Corinne Michaels is the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling author of Beloved, Beholden, Consolation, Conviction, Defenseless, Say You'll Stay, and Say You Want Me. She’s an emotional, witty, sarcastic, and fun loving mom of two beautiful children. Corinne is happily married to the man of her dreams and is a former Navy wife. After spending months away from her husband while he was deployed, reading and writing was her escape from the loneliness. Both her maternal and paternal grandmothers were librarians, which only intensified her love of reading. After years of writing short stories, she couldn’t ignore the call to finish her debut novel, Beloved. Her alpha Navy SEALs are broken, beautiful, and will steal your heart.

Perhaps, herein lies the problem, I just didn't find Trent to be very much of a "manly man" (actually I didn't really fall in love with any of the Hennington boys). It started off well in the beginning. Here we have Trent a 40 yr old bachelor who's been with Grace for 20 years but hasn't been able to pull the trigger and make a commitment. Grace is tired of dealing with Trent and his commitment phobic ways and tells him she's had enough and is done with his foolishness. She might still love him but she's decided to break up with him, move on and agrees to go on a date with another man; Trent realizes he needs to fight for his woman. Sounds interesting right? Well, that's about the point it started going downhill for me. Trent shows up, and finally, after 20 yrs tells Grace he loves her and expects everything to be just hunky-dory. Rightfully so, Grace is not only surprised but a little leary over the sudden admission of love. When Trent realizes she's still going on her date with Cooper he has a fit and stomps off. Unfortunately, I just didn't like Trent; he wouldn't make a commitment but he wouldn't let her go either. He, both figuratively and literally ran away rather than deal with or get his issues. But the real kicker was how dramatic he was......I'm talking about a 40 yr old, grown man who runs away and cries like a baby..........really?!?! Honestly, I couldn't stop eye rolling or (dare I say it) thinking how weak he was.
As far as Grace goes? I can't say I disliked her but....... dayum girl.......20 YEARS? You actually waited 20 YEARS for that good ol' boy to say "I love you" and either agree to move into together or get married? What were you thinking?
I love CM I just didn't love this and clearly, I'm in the minority here, so what do I know? Read the book you'll probably love it. I'm hoping Cooper will get his own book and maybe he'll have his act together.
