Editorial Reviews

“Readers who need more of Kenner’s racy, sizzling Stark novels will delight in this new series, set in the same decadent, lavish world. . . . Kenner has crafted a hero whose compassion is remarkable, and who is strong enough not only to apologize and to change, but to offer her the kind of love she wants and needs, as well. . . . Fans of dark, intense and emotionally scorching romances will surely adore this series opener.”RT Book Reviews
“It’s a heady mix of love and intrigue, and Kenner continues to deliver a knockout experience that made me long for the next book even as I was more than satisfied with this story’s ending. To say more would give too much away, and I encourage everyone who loved the original Stark trilogy to read Say My Name to find out what’s there for themselves.”—The Romance Evangelist
“J. Kenner has given us one hell of a story with this start to the Stark International series. And if anyone can give Damien Stark a run for his money, it’s Jackson Steele.”—Cocktails and Books
“If you enjoyed the Stark novels, you are going to love Say My Name!”—Reading Keeps Me Sane
“J. Kenner’s best work to date. . . . The pull between these two is off the charts. They have this intense chemistry that pretty much makes their sexy times go through the roof! . . . It was great getting to see Nikki and Damien again. . . . Even though I know them from their series, they seem fresh. . . . J. Kenner knocked it out of the park with this one. Five-off-the-charts-hot-stars!”—About That Story
“J. Kenner never fails to provide a gripping and passionate story. Say My Name takes you to the edge and then pushes you over. Not that I was expecting anything less, but Jackson Steele is the perfect addition to the Stark series. . . . I cannot wait to see what unfolds next. . . . More Jackson! More please.”—Obsessed with Myshelf
“J. Kenner has once again given us a serial that is packed with steam, drama, and suspense that will keep us readers guessing and reading on. Say My Name is a wonderful beginning of a love story that is as complicated as the main characters. It is a great introduction to two characters who will no doubt capture the hearts of readers with their overpowering love for each other despite what seems like unbeatable odds.”—Sultry, Steamy Reading
“Your jaw will drop, your thighs will clench. . . . This book was angst. Pure and complete angst. It took my breath. . . . You have no idea what to expect from page to page and I loved that. J. Kenner does such an amazing job with this book, I couldn’t put it down and honestly, I didn’t want to. It. Was. That. Good.”—The Boyfriend Bookmark

Made the mistake of starting this late at night, and then had to stay up to finish it. It will be a coffee morning for sure!

Boy, did I like Jackson Steele. What a hard name, what a guy. He was incredibly in tune to our heroine, Sylvia, and incredibly in lust for her. It was like the 5 years between meetings was an overnight gap. Believable? hmmmm. Enticing, heck yes! Jackson had the hots for Sylvia and had not forgotten her, nor was he done with her. When she offered a chance for him to strike a deal in his favor, he jumped all over it.

I can't say that I'm a big fan of how hurt he was by her pushing him away after their first time together. It was too short, too brief, for me to buy that he recognized how special this relationship was to him and was angry at her over preventing it from playing out. That's just a lot to believe in from his perspective. From her perspective, oh yeah - I think the author did a great job of walking us thru exactly why Sylvia would run far and fast from a relationship with Jackson. I bought into why her psyche was damaged, and her rules to live by to keep it safe and protect herself.

I can't say I love the concept that she was willing to prostitute herself to him when she knew with every ounce of her being that it was wrong for her. I think I'd like to have seen a different way for them to be brought together, and her putting her foot firmly in his ass for suggesting the deal. Didn't happen, her ambition to gain her career goals outweighed her self-respect. So that bugged me a bit.

And I suspended my belief to buy into Jackson being a very effective stalker, and her not caring but actually welcoming his comforting presence watching over her.

The book was an okay read. Had a lot of potential. Loved the story line and liked the characters, it's just that it seemed the writing was kind of sparse at times. The author would lead you up to something, but it seemed you just didn't quite make it to the peak. Build you up just to twist and turn you on to something else.

Sylvia was a good character. Abused and still suffering from it. All through the book she slowly tells us her story of abuse and how it's made her into the person she is. She even tells Jackson. But when we get the opportunity to meet her abuser it last 2 secs. A couple of sentences. She is thrown back, but Jackson is thrown into it and we, the reader doesn't get to witness it. We have to read that it even happened in a newspaper headline along with Syl! Too many of these things occurred.

Maybe there would have been less holes, more depth, and more of a engaging story if it came from both characters POV. The foundation was terrific, if only the characters experiences (aka the meat of the story) would have been equally translatable, the story would have easily been a 5 star book.

I just could not get into this book. Sylvia is very broken and from the memory of what happened to her I don't blame her. She met Jackson 5 years ago and because of what happened to her she desperately needs control and because he was making her feel out of control she asked him to walk away with no explanation, so he did. Sylvia is now in commercial real-estate and has been put in charge of a huge project. The architect they had bailed and with the whole project in jeopardy she has no choice to go to the one man she knows can ruin her. Jackson does not make it easy for her, he will only agree to do the project if she will also be in his bed. That is as far as I got. This is what I don't like, I HATE when characters don't communicate. She was crazy about Jackson but because she was feeling vulnerable and out of control she bailed with no explanation. Now I am not saying she has to go into every detail, but why not explain your feelings so he understands. He may not be happy but he could except you just are not ready. Five years and he is just as infatuated with her, they were only together for a short time before. Sylvia does not seems like that much of a prize, she has never dealt with any of what happened to her and just pushed it down, because that's healthy. With what happened before he is just going to forget all that and just want her back after she broke his heart? He goes to extreme measures to force her into this deal. I did not like the back and forth from current, too when she was 15, to 5 years ago when they met. It was just frustrating for me and I could not imagine having to wade through 3 books of this, so I decided to stop before I got more annoyed.

Wow. Say My Name had me at the start. I love Jackson Steel. Sylvia and Jackson's story is one that I held my breath reading. Sylvia works for Damien Stark as his receptionist in Stark Industries. Sylvia wants to try to move up in the company and so she is given a development of a resort on an island. Jackson is an architect. After another architect fell through Sylvia as no choice but to go to Jackson and get him to work with her. There was only one problem with that, she had told him five years ago to leave her alone. But she needs him.
This book is so good it has everything, sex, love and oh the surprises. I was yelling at the book. You will enjoy Say My Name. It is a must read.
