The story is a bit light on details and takes some large steps of improbability, but in the end it doesn’t matter because the sex and details of the main character is riveting. I have not had more fun reading lesbian fiction in a long time. This simply sells the book, if for no other reason.
The story is rather straight forward; Jessica is friends with Pete, who is getting married. Rachel, the bride, has a friend named Rachel that is coming in from the UK and needs a ride from the airport. Both Jessica and Rachel are beautiful young women, with Jessica being outwardly gay. The ensuing story is Rachel’s seduction into a torrid lesbian relationship. The ending is rather surprising and lends itself to the name of the novella.
The grammar is tight and the story is well written. I found myself rarely re-reading sentences and the pages went quick. While others do not like short stories such as these, I find them refreshing. Something I can quickly read in a short amount of time. Nor having to invest a lot of time to get to the action and meat of the book. And as I said, the sex is hot and luscious.
Saying yes has never come easy for Jessica Shaw. In the past, it has always been followed with disappointment. Now, when it comes to relationships, she's more than a little skittish.
When her best friend asks her to be best "man" at his wedding, how can she decline? Through a series of coincidences and mishaps, she and the gorgeous maid of honor end up sharing Jess's apartment for a long weekend. In that short amount of time, Jess discovers something very significant. Things are so much better when you let go and just say yes…
there is limited character development and the story offers no credible rationale why Kat ends up engaging in a relationship with a lesbian, Jess... the background is not rich and contextual enough to understand. regardless, there is some sexual heat in the story to compensate for the absence of more background...and possibly serving to cloud the fact that such detail is missing. it was ok a story and very much a quick read.
