Even after 18 years, Fabian and Bjorn are nursing different versions of the same past hurt - their abrupt breakup. With a trail of failed relationships for Fabian and meaningless hookups for Bjorn, neither has found in other men what they have been missing in each other. Promoting a charity song unexpectedly reunites the singer and backup dancer, and being snowed in together prompts a bumpy reunion as they work through deeply hurt feelings and past misunderstandings and slowly rekindle the love that never diminished.
The author is upfront about the open relationship element in this story, which I was initially weary about since it's outside of my usual reading wheelhouse, but it's a thoroughly discussed mutual decision between the MCs and any such encounters occur off-page. I also found deciphering what all Fabian did and didn't remember about Bjorn and their time being boyfriends at university to be somewhat confusing, but those details became less important overall as the story progressed. I received an advance reading copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily.
