This is a beautifully finished 1/14th scale model. Visible engine detailing looks great and the surface finish of the plastic body is bright and shiny, and looks more like a well painted surface than bare plastic. I consider the remote controlled operation to be a bonus, although for many this may be the main reason for the purchase. The model was very well secured in it's retail packaging via (4) 1/4 turn plastic fasteners for the vehicle and (2) small self-tapping screws for the remote control transmitter. All of the fasteners had plastic thumb extensions, so no tools are needed to remove the vehicle and transmitter from the box.
The car requires (5) AA cells which may be alkaline, NiCad, NiMh, or even zinc carbon. The remote control transmitter requires (1) 9-Volt PP-3 battery which can be alkaline, Li-Ion, or zinc-carbon. Batteries are not included. The supplied antenna must be installed on the transmitter.
Operation of the vehicle is very basic with small, arrow-shaped forward and reverse buttons providing full power forward and reverse, and small "steering buttons" providing fixed 25 degree turning left or right. Steering is fast, abrupt and is non-proportional. There is a mechanical straight line tracking adjustment on the bottom of the vehicle to trim the straight-line tracking. The vehicle does have a working differential which allows for easy turns without the understeer of simple locked-axle models. It also has bright white LED headlights that turn on when it's moving forward, and red LED taillights when running in reverse.
Acceleration is quick and even with the installed hollow soft rubber tires the little Ferrari will spin it's tires on all but the highest friction surfaces when using new alkaline cells. There is no automatic braking, so care must be used if the vehicle is used in most indoor spaces. A one-second press of the forward button will launch the car to high speed and it will coast 10 or 15 feet. The only way to slow it is to hit the reverse button.
This powered model is probably suitable for a 6-year old or older child with quick reflexes. It's probably too fast and responsive for anyone younger.
Overall, it's a remarkable bargain when you consider the overall quality of it as a display model, and would be worth the price to many even if it didn't run. As a remote controlled vehcle, it' as basic as they come with no proportional steering and no throttle modulation possible. It is "driveable" in large open spaces like a parking lot or 25 ft wide driveway, but if used indoors will probably frustrate most children and adults who try to operate it because of the "on-off" drive and steering, and who will wind up crashing into everything nearby.

I bought it as a gift for my friend’s kid. The toy looked great and everything seemed fine until we tried to use it. The kid had to be step away from the car in order car do drive. I was very confused why until his older sibling asked whether there was an antenna in the box.
I called amazon and asked to send me a new remote control (with antenna) or send an antenna (if there is one that is missing), but amazon asked to send the toy back, so they can refine me. Here is the thing - I could not get the gift back because it would have been bad to ask the kid to return the toy. At the same time, I felt bad that it did not work properly and I paid money for the bad toy that would not bring much joy.
Very disappointed and it’s a third party seller. Amazon should verify third party sellers better.
P.s I am a prime member and always buy stuff from amazon. I make orders almost every week and I am very disappointed with that situation
