The Zanskar is a medium-weight backpacking boot intended for people who carry moderate loads in technical terrain. It features the Biometric Sole package, which uses a dual-density Polyurethane midsole to map different densities of polyurethane into specific locations to improve both cushioning and precision on the trail. In the upper, an ergonomic V-flex design provides a wide range of ankle motion, and better fit is achieved through use of memory foam inside the boots. One-piece Nubuck leather construction, softer Nubuck ankle collars and no-friction micro-pulley hardware bolster the Zanskar’s customized, comfortable fit.
Get away from the hustle and bustle and breathe some mountain air with the Zanskar hiking boot from Scarpa. The padded collar works with optional ankle laces to achieve the perfect amount of support and comfort while the Gore-Tex layer manages moisture like a pro. The Vibram lug sole can handle challenging terrain so you can head for the priceless vista with confidence.See all Product description

I've recently hit the trail with the Zanskars (NH's Mt. Carrigain, and the Baldfaces) and so far I've been quite pleased. The vibram soles are very grippy as you'd expect from Vibram soles. It's a gamble when you buy anything else. The leather and build quality seem to be quite high. I didn't want a boot that relied soley upon gortex for it's waterproofness. I've put snowseal onto the boots as soon as I received them.
The lacing system seems fairly good. The lowest set of boot hooks has a locking feature that is at first a bit annoying. Once you've got the tauntness of the lower laces where you want them you'll be happy however. My only concern with the boot duribility lies with the orange cloth netting along the ankle. Leather would have been better, the cloth may not last the life of the boot.
