keeping him safe...for help with that she reconnects with her sister Ari and her merry gang of bikers ....whom I just adored...
~~The scars inside and out had never really had a chance to heal before they seemed to open up again. I wanted to heal. I wanted to be done running.~~
Mela gets stronger and stronger as time goes by ...she becomes more confident...more independent...more self assured... She is one strong female lead ...When Jackson stubbles quiet literally onto her cabin....things get HOT and steamy and secrets are abound...
~~A new scar engraved itself on my fragile heart—not a visible scar that anyone would ever see, but a scar that cut deep and only Jackson could heal.~~
Mela and Jackson have great chemistry..I love their story ...they make each other better people ...Beck is just adorable...all around great read...Highly Recommended!
I needed to know what happened to Mela and Beck. I had some questions in the beginning on why things were bad for them and I was drawn in. I didn’t want to put this book down! Mela showed courage and strength that I honestly didn’t know she had until she proved it. As for Jackson, I admit that I thought he was shady in the beginning. It was obvious that he knew more than he let on. I had high hopes that he would really turn out to be a really good guy. And I wasn’t let down! There were moments that he just melted my heart! I loved it!
What struck me the hardest was the wisdom within the pages. Many of us look at our scars as ugly parts. Scars serve as reminders of what we have survived, memories, or lessons we have learned. The following is my favorite part about scars and tattoos:
“Funny how some people disapproved so much of tattoos. Before Jackson, I had looked
down on them as well. But now I saw them as an artistic choice. Rock’s D was a scar of sorts.
A memory of Dee. He made his scar visible so he could wear it proudly.” ~ Mela
In my opinion, this isn’t “just” a novel published for entertainment. There are lessons. If you are someone who still sees your scars as ugly, I believe you need to read this book. This isn’t just about scars that are on the surface. It’s about the inner scars and how we may be able to heal them. Thank you, Kristi Pelton, for this amazing book!
