These are extremely well and clearly written patterns, but the author and editors left something out: the parts of the instructions that make it possible to make a differently-sized scarf. Instead of a flat & unequivocal “chain 240,” a “chain a multiple of X (plus Y, if necessary)” would make it possible to adapt the length of the scarf to differently-sized folks, as well as to different weights of yarn from those specified. As it is I am left to figure that out for myself, after having made one of their “one size fits all” versions. I shall probably have to get the formula for the initial chain by making the scarf as is, and then doing the math. I do scarves for folks from toddler to well over 6 feet tall, and I, myself, happen to like a shorter scarf than several of my similarly mid-sized recipients like, so the lack of this bit of information is particularly annoying in an otherwise excellent book of patterns.

I love, love, love that hey have a supportive web site that shows the details for "clusters" and "picot" stitches. The video clips are in either left or right handed. This is great for me as a lefty. This is my favorite of all the books I have ordered so far, I have made every scarf in the book multiple times. I now put abit of my own twist on some of them. This is a very well formatted instructional crochet book. I am now prioritizing purchasing from the Leisure Arts series for this reason.

The book is plastic spiral-bound so it lays flat while using it. The scarves are so beautiful that it's hard to choose a first to crochet! Definitely a must for crocheters.

I love this book! It has all sorts of ways to mirror crocheted scarves and allows for variations on the main theme. What I did not like is that it took so long to get to me: the delivery date was extended once by the seller. I don't mind long delivery dates as long as you keep your word, but the original delivery date was quite long enough. For it to be extended seemed a bit much. Getting back to the book, I recommend it for all crocheter's, beginner or advanced, especially scarf lovers!
