With a heart for family and faith, this author has crafted a beautiful story of a marriage and life with illness. The characters are rich and relatable. I was moved to tears many times as my family also has been touched by the ravages of Alzheimer's. The story line is woven in past vignettes to present ones and I loved the way it knit the theme together. It's such a touching story and a rare gem among the current literary offerings.

I read this book in 2 days. I couldn't put it down. I loved the back & forth between the present & past. A beautiful love story between husband & wife, and between family members. Really enjoyed the look into faith and family. I did a self check of faith while reading this. Praying for support & strength vs the results you want. A delightful book.

I bought this book on Tuesday, started on Wednesday afternoon and finished it that evening. I am one of those readers that need to feel as though I am in the story, can feel the love, passion, saddness or joy, whatever the characters feel I want to feel it too! And I did in Scattered. This book is such an insperation and reminder of how life works, to have faith, believe in something or someone. This is a must read book!!!!

Three pages into Scattered, I was hooked. This story of love and faith was the perfect combination of heart-breaking and heart-warming. The characters were so well developed I felt like I was part of their family. I was very impressed with the writer's ability to write from so many varied perspectives, all in such a believable manner. I finished it days ago and find myself thinking about it often. I would absolutely recommend this book to others. I hope it is only the first of many from this talented new author.

Dealing with caregiving and family relationships myself, I was impressed with how well the author captured the struggles of those of us handling caregiving and loss in different relationships. This book was an inspirational and thought provoking read. It really portrays family struggles from different perspectives and gives you a good understanding of how we are all just struggling to do our best.

I just finished this 1st novel by Kelly Marselle Herdrich and it was a joy to read. This young authors insight into the importance of faith and family as well as aging and health is remarkable. The life and love of this family and their strong faith made it a book that should be read by all engaged couples. The writing style of going back and forth in time grabs the reader from the very beginning. And the end was a beautiful surprise.

This was a thought provoking story that deals with the difficult issues of life and death. It follows a family as they are confronted with the emotional roller coaster that is life within a family of three generations. The book was gripping and tough to put down. I heartily recommend this book.
