The game takes place on one basic bland screen. There is an on-screen host and when his lips actually do sync with his dialog he's pretty skippable. Questions are good with clips from current features, but the whole presentation looks like a bad Wii game. The last game you and your fellow avatars went zooming around on a couch with beautifully rendered animation sequences. This one you get a very brief cut scene that looks like entry level 3D renderings.
I could go on, but why bother? If you are even remotely interested in this game, stop yourself, and get the last one, Scene It? Box Office Smash (best in the series) or even the first one.
Scene It? on the consoles has dropped to a surprising new low in which it may not recover.
Hopefully Microsoft will release another DLC pack for either of the old versions so we can continue to play them until next year when maybe a decent edition of this game will return.
The game has fun mini-games and videos that make it unique.
One change that I liked - the last place player is able to choose the puzzle (from a list of 3) once in a while (sequentials, visual puzzler, pop quiz, etc). My wife and I dislike similar puzzles, so we avoid things we do not enjoy (sequentials).
Another thing I like so far - at least one new puzzle type that challenges you to match actors/actresses with their roles. There is a list of four roles and four actors, and you have to match them. It plays a bit like the sequentials puzzle.
One change that I did not like - I love pixel flix (8 bit renditions of movies scenes). In BOS, you were able to watch the entire clip. This version ends the clip after everyone has answered. I don't know if I should answer quickly to score big, or watch the whole thing and be amused.
If you enjoy games based on movie trivia, this is a good one to get. If you pick games based on being able to use your avatar in them (?), this game is not for you.
