From the game pieces to the trivia cards, every aspect of Scene It? Disney Magical Moments has been infused with the spirit of Disney. The game begins with players choosing one of four collectible tokens to represent their team. Sculpted out of metal, these tokens have been modeled after some of Disney's most recognizable characters, like Buzz Lightyear, Tinkerbell, Wall-E, and Rapunzel. The game board is collapsible and offers two sizes, giving you the option of playing a 15-minute quick game or a 40-minute extended game.
Interactive DVD and Trivia Cards
Teams advance around the board by answering two types of questions from traditional trivia cards and DVD-based puzzles. The trivia cards come in three different categories: orange "Take Three" questions, blue "Songs and Slogans" questions, and silver "Miscellaneous" questions. They vary in difficulty; some of the tougher questions are challenging enough to stump even the most loyal Disney fans.
The main attraction, however, is the interactive DVD. Featuring hundreds of video clips, sound bites, and images from various Disney films, the DVD challenges players to solve mind-bending puzzles. With a variety of different puzzle categories, the DVD puts your knowledge of Disney films to the test. Categories include "Sketch It," where players must identify a character based on an in-progress sketch, and "Best Buds," which challenges players to match characters from the same film.
Fun for the Whole Family
The Scene It? DVD has been designed with Disney fans in mind. It pays homage to nearly every Disney film ever made, ranging from old classics like Snow White and Peter Pan to new favorites like WALL-E and Tangled. You'll see cameos by your favorite characters, watch video clips from classic films, and be treated to various Disney soundtracks.
With hundreds of questions, Disney Scene It? has something for all Disney fans. The game is difficult enough to pose a challenge to Disney die-hards, but children and casual fans won't be excluded. The game includes an easier category of cards intended especially for children.

Unlike earlier releases, where a fair amount of focus was spent on Disney classics as well as newer films, the latest Disney "Scene It?" game is far more skewed towards newer Disney pop culture and newer Disney characters than previous versions (incorporating material from the very latest Pixar films and straight-to-video releases). This makes "Scene It? Disney Magical Moments" appealing primarily to rabid younger fans (you know, the ones who alternate between watching DVD viewings of "Bolt", "Hannah Montana: The Movie", "Phineas and Ferb" and "High School Musical 3", ad nauseam); those who have been weaned on earlier Disney classics must settle for an occasional bone thrown at them. This is not inherently a bad thing, but it does limit the appeal of this game to the younger set, as older fans simply won't be familiar with much (if not most) of the material.
The board, pieces and gaming mechanics are standard "Scene It?" issue, which means that while it works well enough, if you're looking for a fresh take on the "Scene It?" franchise, look elsewhere. As is usual with all "Scene It?" games, expect eventually to run into the same audio and video clips over and over again with repeated gameplay.Read more ›
And, so, when the Vine Program offered this "Disney Magical Moments" version, naturally I sent for it to try out and review here. Frankly, I know of nobody who is not a big animation lover, and Disney Animation in particular, so let's face it, this game automatically scores points just for it's subject matter alone. A highlight for me was all the Pixar bits and clips, etc....I just love all the work this studio has produced for us over the past few years!
I live in a retirement property, residents need be 55 and up, or disabled. When I received this game in today's mail, everyone present "wanted to play"! I hooked everything up to our 55" widescreen and some of us "dove right in", and now, 7 hours later, I finally packed everything up and have come home.....phew!
Did we have a good time? YES, resoundingly, of course! Everyone wanted to know "when we were going to play again?"....which I thought was pretty darn cool as many here do not partake of activities.
Some, of course, were not familiar with some of the newer characters, etc., and were a little stumped, but everyone had a very good time, laughing, chattering, and asking "if I had the movie for that one?", etc., which in many instances I do, as I am an avid movie buff, so not only were folks entertained with the game itself, they are inquiring to see the movie(s), etc., which is a wonderful thing here to help build community!Read more ›
It's surprising to see how many of the Disney movies we've watched and the little kids can play as part of a team too. We had a 3 year old and a 5 year old helping our adults on teams last weekend and it was a blast for everyone. If you're looking for strictly adult trivia games though this is probably too juvenile.
Each category has challenges and appeals to different different people like guessing characters based on clues, or identifying movies based on scenes. The most fun though was the competitions (all plays) to see which team could guess movie or character FIRST based on the audio clips, scenes, characters, clues, etc.. For some reason those audio clues were especially exciting.
We also like that the play time wasn't too long, we can complete a long game in about 35 minutes or shorten the playing board for a 15 minute game. We have also skipped the playing board altogether and just used the DVD and playing features to have a mini competition, just to see who can get the answer first.
If you're a movie lover "Scene It" is really fun. If you're family likes Disney or animated movies this a "Disney Magical Moments Scene It" is GREAT. As a family we like this game better than the other two we have played.
Recommended ***** But this is just for fun, there isn't a whole lot of education value.

Kids love it. Mama loves it. The music is irritating as heck, but we mute the TV in between plays. A good game for all ages and we play it all the time. Love this game!Published on January 26, 2014 by Leigh W.
Great and fun game. The board isn't as big or have as many of the characters as the original but the concept is the same and is a lot of fun for kids and adults.Published on January 2, 2014 by Michael Phelan
