The first time I used the book was on the first day of the trip - as we were driving we suddenly noticed on the side of the road what appeared to be black lava rock, which made no sense whatsoever and left us completely baffled. The next several miles we encountered more and more of it until I finally remembered I had this book in my purse. I pulled it out and sure enough, we were driving through an old lava flow. Who knew?!?
I was so happy that I didn't have to just plan the rest of our trip based on pretty marketing brochures.
The biggest PRO of this book was that it helped us narrow down the many things to see and really use our time efficiently - everything the author highly recommended was spectacular!
The only CON was that it takes a few minutes of studying in order to understand how the book is laid out. However, once you figure it out it's extremely handy.
There are few pictures in the entire book which is a shame, but the descriptions of the drives in the book are wonderful. In fact, the idea way to use this book would be with two people. One driving and the other reading the narrative as you drove.
I found the narrative to be spot on and the advice saved me much time since I knew what to look for.
5 stars. Color would well be worth the extra dollars especially in the Kindle edition!
Gives you an idea of where you might like to go while on vacation by
providing various driving "trips".
We are traveling down from the Midwest, making our way through
Arizona, and up through Utah.
The problem I had was that the "sights" in southern Utah are so far apart,
you really have to have some idea on what you want to see, and these
scenic driving trips seem to provide that.

This is a very good book, but honestly, I wish it was more of a reference guide than a narrative.Published 1 month ago by Glenda Moore
