Why? Well, because it just wasn't all about Vampires. Actually, she begins the book like any other love story and it wasn't until I was vested in the book that she sprung the Vampire on me! I just thought he had some dark past secret the way she played it in the beginning. I was thinking maybe a mob hit man or something of that nature. Or he was from another world or planet.
So, it took me by surprise but by then I was so engrossed in the book, it didn't matter. And I love that there might be another book in the works having to do with her sister and one of the other vampires. I also liked that she wrapped up Lilliah's and Marek's life and gave me a glimpse of what happens to them and the other characters in the book.
You won't need a sequel to this book. It will finish and you won't have to wait for another one unless you want another totally different story about Lilliah's sister and Flynn. I know I am waiting for it because the story was told in a fascinating way that kept me on the edge of my seat!
