After a few days of adjusting the levels of all the weird sound settings manually I finally got it to work and it is normal. Very fricken confusing and strange how it comes out of the box with essentially screwed up audio settings. Almost returned it to be honest.
Just for a total shot in the dark before throwing it out since Squaretrade didn’t want the TV, I opened up the back to have a look. Naturally figuring it was the power board, I did a little research, found a replacement for $55 (used; guess that’s all you can get), put it in and low and behold the TV came alive! And it was WAY easier than I thought it would be to do. Ultra easy. So buy this vibrant garbage, get a warranty and/or replacement board and it’ll bring you happiness for years to come!
