I love just about everything about this guitar, but I did make some mods. The stock pickups are decent, but I wanted more clarity and harmonic sensitivity, so I replaced them with a DiMarzio Norton in the bridge and Air Norton in the neck. Now it sounds amazing. Add to that a tone knob replaced with a dual function coil split and this guitar punches way above its weight, and it's a very light guitar. The neck is one of the best I've ever played, and the frets are perfect. The contours on the body and tapered neck joint make is very comfortable to play, sitting or standing. The string thru bridge set up adds tremendous sustain and tone, and brightness. If the guitar had a locking trem it just wouldn't work. But with this bridge it sounds regal. I've been playing guitar since the mid 80s and this is not only one of the best values I've ever seen but one of the best guitars I've ever owned, and I've owned very expensive guitars, including custom builds.

If this is what Schecter calls an entry level for the C-6 Diamond Series, I can't wait to see their more expensive models because this beauty is a steal. If you can get one do it now, I own seven other guitars, the cheapest cost $500 and the most expensive was $2200, so I have something to compare with.
I've got real Fender and Gibson, Epi's from China, a Fender branded Thinline Tele from Indochina, and a Fender branded Tele Made In Japan and every one's a keeper. This one is crafted in Indochina, too. I think in Inchon, S,. Korea.
But this gorgeous matte finish blue C-6 has found a new place in my heart. I've never had anything out of the box that felt so good and three out of six strings were in perfect tune, the others needed only a slight adjustment.
As another review mentioned, this is stripped of all extraneous matter and is strictly business. The Schecter site says they are equipped with Ernie Ball 9's and the neck is a 14" radius.
Those little humbuckers are squealing hot, and you don't have to be a rocket surgeon to get the tone and volume right. It has a Bi-Flex truss rod that usually comes on much more expensive guitars, like a Fender Professional series.
If I have one regret, it is that I didn't opt for the black satin because I just ordered a Schecter Stiletto Stealth Satin Black 4 string bass, and they'd sure look good hanging side by side.
Be sure you call that number for the concierge tech so she can give you a code for 10% off. That means $24.90 saved right off the bat.
It was double boxed and unmarred by shipping.
I wouldn't take my money back, and if I was told this guitar was a $500 model, I wouldn't argue the point.

I’ve been an advocate of Schecter for 15 years, and even with this poor experience I will continue to support them. I bought this guitar as an entry level guitar for my son so I wasn’t expecting anything out of this world. However, I was expecting it to work. I’m not sure how they go through QC and ship with the electronics not working. So, not a great experience but Amazon has a great return policy and took care of it.
Update: recieved the new guitar and it works. Sounds great and will be a great shredder. Schecter, I love ya but what is up with your inventory? This guitar and the one I ordered has been on back order forever (through multiple sellers). I finally cancelled mine. Get your logistics and quality in order over there!

I love Schecter but this one is a disappointment. Besides the fact that the seller sent a defective one in poor packaging that arrived all smashed up, the quality of this build was honestly a letdown. I have a C-8 (same guitar but 8 strings and longer scale neck) and it's nearly perfect so I guess it's just hit or miss with Indonesian made guitars even from Schecter. One of the two knobs was installed at an obvious angle. The pickup cavities are so wide open.. just seems like it will be pain to keep clean. The tone switch is great in my opinion but the tones just sound like a cheap guitar. I can't help but think the low quality body has a lot to do with it. My Raiden Special 5 (5 string bass) is one of my absolute favorites so I will probably step it up and try a Damien 6 next and see if that is any better. Right now only $50 more I think. On the positive. I learned that if you don't live near a mega guitar store like Guitar Center, having Amazon Prime is a decent way to test drive guitars to find that perfect fit. Just takes a little time. In conclusion, I would consider something else. Good luck all!

This is a great beginner to mid-level guitar and i wouldn't really be surprised if a long time guitar aficionado has one of these as a favorite. I like the lightweight but balanced feel. Seems lke Schecter created this affordable guitar by cutting corners that don't affect the most important things on a very playable guitar. Well worth the money. I did have to tighten the tuning key nuts; they were loose enough to turn with my fingers. Not sure if vibration from shipping caused it or what but after i torqued them and added brand new strings I am very pleased with everything so far. This thing sustains like a tuning fork and plays very easy. You will not be disappointed.

Very clean, honest sound. The Youtube videos were very accurate in their sound. The sound I just love. The simple design is great behind this guitar, it is evident. Who ever designed it knew what the player needed. Very good instrument and fret board. It was perfectly set out of the box and is just plain cool looking. Very light, I think the body is plastic, but i dont care. I,m not scratching it to find out. You will not be disappointed with this instrument. If you are a beginner, this is the one to learn to walk with. You could play it for the rest of your life. Hand it down to your children. My goodness, but this thing is nice. My guitar is just plain fine. My name is Taokab, and I approve this message. (It was packaged in double boxes and delivery was good) follow up, still good, It has good sustain, Stays in tune so far, It is not plastic or a composite material. It is a grained wood. Thats what I saw taking off the back plate to the electronics. Very neat work on electronics. Bound and shielded. Still like it. Clean, sound. Good guitar.

Worth the money

If you are looking for a reasonably priced ( mid price ), this is a good choice. light body, really low action out of the box, comfortable. Nicely finished.
medium jumbo frets are odd if you are not familiar with them, a lighter touch is required. The Guitar stays in tune, compared to cheaper makes (after a bit of string stretching the guitar stays in tune, tuning heads are decent ) fret buzz on the low E and A strings, the bridge was raised on the E and A string side slightly, solved the problem, still a very low action. I bought this is a practice guitar, look at You tube reviews, it is rated . Played through a small Belcat Bass amp, a nice sound. A decent amp would show the Guitar's true form.
