A perfect replacement for Gillette

After Gillette decided to insult their primary customer base (men), I decided that I needed an alternative. Schick was the logical choice. The quality is at least as good as the comparable Gillette product, and the price is better. And Schick seems to understand that its business is selling razors and blades, not getting involved in social issues.

This does not provide as close or smooth a shave as the Gillette Fusion - it tugs a little more and my face isn't baby smooth when I get done using it (might be irritating for younger men new to shaving).

That said, it is an excellent cost-effective alternative, which is why I give it 5 stars. Like the fusion, it has a single blade at the blade's top edge for trimming. Also like the fusion, the blades have an extended lifespan -- not quite as long as the fusion (about 2-3 weeks whereas I get four with the Fusion), but better than your disposable blade.

Most importantly, I can find blades for it that are not made by Schick and are significantly cheaper. I love the Fusion's quality, but cannot bring myself to pay the ridiculous price of replacement blades. I'd give this a try if you are looking for a cheaper but competitive alternative.

Great to replace the handle. I'd foolishly left mine in a shower on vacation. Gone. I have maybe a dozen of the cartridges and figured it would be worth it to replace the handle. It was. This system gives me a great shave. I also have Atra and some disposables, but Quattro pivots easily and gets all the hairs all the way down. It's my fave.

I had one of these razors for, oh, probably about the last 5-6 years. After much abuse, it finally fell apart and I bought another one exactly like it. and if Schick ever quits making this model, I will panic and compulsively buy every single quattro titanium in the tri-state area and hoard them, because this is the BEST RAZOR.
I have sensitive skin. I get razor burn extremely easily. I've tried LOTS of different razors. This one is the ONLY one that doesn't give me razor burn.
My old one survived years of being banged around, dropped, having things dropped on it, being shoved in backpacks to go camping, and on one occasion used as a chew toy by the dog. (Just the handle! No blades, thank god)

I agree with those who have many years experience with razors and their cartridges who say this is the best they've ever used. Make sure it is the titanium cartridge, German made, that you purchase with these. The handle and head design, the angle towards the face, the blade action, together have the symmetry that exceeds the competition and tracks my skin like a Nascar driver sleeking the rails on a smooth sure run.

Now, Shick, for the men, get a different color scheme. Black and Gold. Or Black, Red and Gold. And make that gunmetal black.
