Anna Reginal has always felt different from everyone around her. She had some amazing abilities. She needed to know where she came from and who her parents were.
She had learned long ago how to stay hidden. When she found herself in a very sticky situation, she did what she had to in order to survive. Even if it meant traveling with a wizard named Leian to an unknown yet familiar place.
Kriston Haddock, a captain of the Matera's force who hated taking orders from his half-brother, the King of Matera, Gillard. He was abused yet stayed silence cause it was the only way he would be able to leave the palace alive.
When he was given an order to go captured a "spy" that was send according to the King by the Queen of Valorna to turn people against them. By stealling all the magic from their land. He went
When Kriston and Anna met for the first time, there was an instant connection between them. A connection that ran deeper than beneath the eyes. Their souls came alive just by being in each other's presences.
Kriston didn't trust Gillard and rightly so. The King was a greedy man who was after Anna's and any magical beings' powers. An even though Kriston was torn between his duty and what he felt for the Princess. He followed his heart.
Looking forward to what comes next. The main characters were amazing as well as the second characters. I'm excited to see how Anna will get her home back in order.
THE SCHOLAR is the first book in JJ Anders' THE GENOA CHRONICLES series. What a beautiful and magical way to start off this incredible journey. 5++++
Anna is not what she appears to be (your average teenage girl). She is so much more and most assuredly not of this world. In her search for answers to who she really is she comes across some very intriguing and exciting charters and travels to a magical world called Genoa (which she is told is her true home). Loved every heart pounding, thought provoking twist and turn.
Received for an honest review.
Anna knows that she is different, from her special abilities, her pale almost etheral appearance, to her very slow aging she is determined to uncover her past. All she remembers is her guardian Wizard Orden who as his last act was to insure she escaped from General Wilberg who is determined to capture and find out what she is. Anna's search lead her to one last library in search of her past until she is rescued by Wizard Leian who not only has answers for her, but takes her a journey of a lifetime. There is more to Anna's past than she expected and all the struggles she has endured may be the one thing that she needs to help her world survive.
This is the beginning of what loos to be an incredible series. The numerous plot twists, complications between the different societies in Ann's new home, and evil individuals make it difficult to sometimes define who to trust. I will be waiting for the next book in The Genoa Chronicles.
Anna is not like any other human girl.
She has been on the run from the general.
When she is rescued by Leian, she learns that she is from another word called Genoa.
In Genoa, she finds out that she is a daughter of a king.
Kriston was just following orders, but he knew that Anna was innocent.
This is a very rich storytelling.
I loved storytelling + the characters!
This is Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings and so much more. Full of magic and mystical animals from sprites and dragons to much more meaner uglier beasts. There's also Kings and Queens and Wizards and more. Full of mystery and deceit which has left me with a few different theories and outcomes in my mind......I can't wait for the next instalment.
