On 21 April 2006 a round-table seminar took place at the premises of Vitterhetsakademien in Stockholm. The occasion was Fornvännens centenary, and the theme was the current status and future prospects of this kind of scholarly journal.
This volume is a collection of nine papers by participants in the seminar. The main themes are the shift from paper to on-line publication, how to solve funding problems and the best way to ensure continued high acaemic standards.
