This scrap/record book is great! It's just what I wanted. It has places for school, class and other photos, somewhere to write little tidbits and favorites, a place to put papers and artwork, and it runs the gamut of pre-K to the end of high school (U.S. standards). As some had noted, it is not 11 inches tall, so it doesn't accommodate full 8 1/2 x 11 paper, but all the books I looked at were this way, and we get much larger projects home anyway. I always scan art projects before folding them if I am worried about preserving original quality. It is sturdy, and the pages open easily without worrying about breaking the binding. One feature that drew me to this book over similar products is the fact that it wasn't designed with a young kid focus. Since this is to be used through high school, I didn't want something with a children's design. In addition to the versatile visual design, the questions and options change over time to fit the age of the student, and there is a nice page at the end for a senior to write about their dreams for the future. I am very happy with our purchase. I am considering purchasing one for my two-year-old right now to ensure I get this design.

This is a nice book. I didn't realize it goes from Preschool up to 12th grade. I thought it started at Kindergarten. I went over the Kindergarten pages with my son last night. It includes questions like who are your new friends, what did you learn new in school this year, and what is your favorite food, color, playground, etc. It's nice to have the little questions there because he will get to look back on this for years to come. There is a slot to place in report cards, special drawings and notes, etc. It is perfect for what we need now, but I do wonder will I have way more than this pocket can fit in future years? The questions change as the child gets older. Instead of answering what is your favorite color? They are answering questions about the sports teams they are on or the volunteer work that they are doing. I like it. I just wish I had it last year so that I could have his preschool page filled out. Oh! And one more part. At the top of each grade's page, it asks for the child's signature. I love that he will get to see how his signature developed over the years.

You have to fold things to be able to store them in the pouches, but if you're okay with that then this is great.
One thing to be warned about though is that if you glue things in this book even with just a glue stick, the glue can end up warping the other pages in the book! So when you glue something in there I would recommend setting the book up so the page can dry before you close it. This might be common knowledge for people who scrapbook a lot but I didn't know this and ended up warping some of the pages in my book.

Like many people, I buy products based on reviews by people. I take the product rating very seriously and don't write reviews unless I do a thorough study to be fair. If you are looking at storing folded papers and smaller size docs/photos, this one shall do, otherwise please look at other products. Thanks for reading. Hope this helps. I am sadly returning this product.

I purchased this item based on one 5 star review, as that's exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for something non-fancy but would hold the normal letter size sheets, as most of the awards, artworks and schoolwork happens to be on the standard US letter size 8.5"X11" paper. This record book DOES NOT hold the papers of that size without folding. Please see the pictures I have uploaded. I took a picture of standard sheet on the record book and inside one of the envelope as well so you can compare the size of the book against the standard paper. You can also see the papers being crushed (if you keep them straight without folding)if you pull the elastic tie over. I won't mind folding school work etc. but I don't think anyone would like folding certificates and artwork.

I originally bought these books for keepsakes because I had a record book all through my school years and loved it (and still love having it to look back on now as an adult). Now, 2 of my 3 kids are homeschooling and I use them to keep records - lesson plans, tests, report cards, job applications and hire dates, even doctor visit summaries and dental records. This system works a lot better for me than a file folder in a crowded drawer. For my high schooler, this book is a great place to keep class syllabi, graded course work, etc., that I use for reference when assigning Carnegie Units and letter grades for high school graduation and that I will need when it's time to do her transcript for college applications. These books are nice and sturdy and have lasted all the way through the school years being handled regularly. As others have mentioned, the book is 10.5" tall so 8.5x11 paper has to be folded or left sticking out of the top. That is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I still chose this book for my 3rd child over others that would fit letter-size paper because it is so sturdy and well-made and I know it will not fall apart by the time she's in high school.

I love this book because it has all of the usual stats about school/what they want to be when they grow up, etc., but also has pockets to store other memories, and places for photos other than a class picture. There are prompts for your child to do each year that are beyond the usual questions, and it is not so time consuming to fill out. My child pulls this out once every few months to look through and remember classmates and things like birthday invitations I have saved. Totally worth it!

I used to have a little one of these when I was a kid, so I am thrilled to have found these for my boys. The book is smaller than a 8X11 sheet of paper. So if you don't want to fold papers to fit in it, don't get it. The book is great, without being cute, so it works for both boys and girls. There is room for making drawings, tracing hands, writing about one self, and putting a signature and a picture for each year in school. I am hoping the book lasts for 12+ years (as it is spiral bound).

Couldn’t find an English version of this type of book anywhere. I went for this and figured I’d risk it. Yes it say kindergarten and has reference to high school but generally it follows years 1 onwards just calling them grades. It will do the job intended to do. Pockets for photos etc and spaces to answer questions of which the wording change as the child gets older.

Item as described, a nice book lots of opportunities to save lovely memories. You have to translate the first few years from kindergarten etc. I would have preferred it A4 size but that is just me!
