I have been a faithful Riedel user for more than a decade, but I grew tired of having to frequently replace them after breakage occurred. They are beautiful, but they just lack the durability to be a practical every day glass. I like to put my glasses in the dishwasher, and they would frequently crack if something else knocked into one. Also, they always came out cloudy after the dishwasher cycle. I read reviews on these glasses, which I had never heard of before. Several restauranteurs extolled the virtues of these glasses, calling them the perfect balance of form (they are still thin and elegant) and function (titanium in the crystal makes them noticeably more durable). Well folks, they were correct. I am so impressed with these glasses! The lip is very slightly thicker than a Riedel or Spiegleau, and I was pleased to find it as thin as it is. The glass overall is heavier than a Riedel - you can tell from holding it that it is sturdier. It feels wonderful in your hand and at your lip, and as a side perk, for whatever reason these come out from the dishwasher perfectly crystal clear - no cloudiness. This glass in particular is the perfect one if you just want one set - the size is appropriate for both reds and whites. The size of the glass was very important to me when I ordered, so I included a couple of photos in case anyone else wants to get an idea of the scale. I have petite hands, FYI. Overall, I can’t recommend this glass highly enough. I am a Schott Zweisel fan for life!
