I ordered the SE-8050 due to its options and features. When I opened the box I noted something rattling inside. I took off one side to find a heat sink with a transistor broken loose. It was clearly a poor design as the heat sink had very poor mounting and broke off during shipping which also broke all leads to the transistor. I returned it that same day for a replacement. That came two business days later. The factory packaging (triple boxed) on this one was damaged and looked like it had been handled very poorly during transportation. The interior of the packaging looked OK but when I got it unwrapped, it became apparent that it had been dropped. The bottom of the charger was bent. I was able to get it straightened and it seems to be working OK. It could definitely be designed better and stronger. Note: the design flaws are not the result of anything Amazon did, they were prompt in both handling my order and replacement. My previous battery charger was a Schumacher as well and lasted over 20 years but it failed because of the way the diodes were attached and they broke off when I was hauling it in my pickup to where my tractor was located. These wheeled chargers are clearly not designed to be hauled around. The new one will probably last a long time if kept in my shop. I will buy a portable one to use elsewhere.
