Commit To Commuting!
If you're still driving to work, you're missing out on the countless health benefits of bike commuting. For one, it means no traffic, no gas money, and fewer fuel emissions. And it's good for you! Studies show commuting reduces fatigue, relieves stress, and burns calories without stressing your joints. Some companies will even pay you to commute! So what are you waiting for?
Versatility, Meet Comfort
Finding the right bike can be tricky. Road bikes are speedy and nimble, but they aren't built to handle even the tiniest pebbles. Mountain bikes are fun for weekend trail romps, but they're too heavy and slow. Maybe you want a cruiser? Sure that riding position is nice, but good luck commuting with that thing. With the speed of a road bike, durability of a mountain bike and that comfortable cruiser riding position, hybrids are clearly the way to go. From speedy morning commutes to long weekend jaunts, the Schwinn GTX 2.0 is here to service all your riding needs. With a light dual sport aluminum frame, strong mechanical disc brakes and multi-condition tires, the ride as always smooth as can be. Enjoy the freedom of riding a Schwinn.
How it all began:
Schwinn was established in 1895, by Ignaz Schwinn in Chicago, IL. Remembered for iconic bikes like the Phantom, the Varsity, the Stingray and the original Krate and Picker series of children's bikes, Schwinn has made it possible for riders of all ages to experience the thrill of riding a bicycle. Children and adults around the world trust the Schwinn name for quality and value. The joys of learning to ride for the first time, sharing an excursion with friends, proudly completing a new training regime or enjoying a local scenic route are all best enjoyed on a Schwinn.
Just like the original bikes made by Ignaz Schwinn, you can count on Schwinn to innovate in ways that enhance and simplifiy the riding experience for all generations of fans.
Enjoy the freedom of riding a Schwinn bicycle.

Major problem in my opinion : it is made in China. There are a lot of quality parts but it didn't come with perfect alignment. I had to align wheels with brake and it didn't shift well when I assembled it in the beginning and I had to adjust them. After few adjustments it was perfect and worked great.
I installed new tires and tubes recently. It was keeping the air very well but during last three months I had to inflate every three days which I think is normal after long time usage. Make sure new tubes have long valves. Short valves work but you don't have enough freedom.
According to other reviews there were no rim tape around rims. I think there were very thin rim tape in my bike but I installed new high quality rim tapes too.
I checked moving parts and there were no damage except bearing balls for front wheel which (just few scratches) I believe I didn't adjust them very well last year. It is very easy and cheap replacement.
I may upgrade freewheel in the future. Sometimes freewheel can't hold the chain tight enough. It doesn't interrupt your at all but it may concern you.
- great quality compared to price
- disk brakes
- front fork works great
- Shimano gears
- lightweight aluminium body
- lifetime warranty
- You have to adjust almost everything, even though more challenging parts come pre-installed. I wish they spend more time on adjustment. Rear wheel adjustment is a real challenge for first time users.
- freewheel is not high quality.
I would recommend this bike for daily use, just check adjustments and install rim tapes. With a little work it will be reliable and sturdy bike for years. You may spend few hundred more to get a higher quality but this is more than enough for me.
I've upgraded my rating of the product to 4 stars (Amazon and UPS still get one star for sending me a damaged bike). A new fork and top cap/star nut arrived from Pacific Cycle (parent company of Schwinn) in one week. I installed the new fork yesterday, which required removing and reinstalling the lower crown race and installing a star fangled nut on the new fork, and completed assembly and adjustments. These are things that the average person probably would have a difficult time doing without the proper knowledge and tools. I've only taken one short ride to ensure that all was well with what I did, but so far am impressed with the quality and functioning of the bike for the price. I think this is probably a decent bike for what it cost. Now if Schwinn and Amazon and UPS could only figure out a way to ship them without damage.
The freewheel that came on the bike was a DNP Epoch 13-28t 7-speed, and it had a lot of slop in it---not well made at all. I replaced it with a Shimano 7-speed 13-28 (MF-HG37) and shifting of the rear cogs is much better and quieter now. Required a Park FR-1 tool to remove the old one, but installation of the new Shimano freewheel was still only about $30, including the tool.
Definitely met my expectations for a middle of the road, Jack of all trades, master of none type of bike.
surprisingly comfortable with the stock seat and not having padded shorts for the ride.
