SCHWINN: When the memories count, trust the brand you know and love.
Schwinn was established in 1895, by Ignaz Schwinn in Chicago, IL. Remembered for iconic bikes like the Phantom, the Varsity, the Stingray and the original Krate and Picker series of children's bikes, Schwinn has made it possible for riders of all ages to experience the thrill of riding a bicycle. Children and adults around the world trust the Schwinn name for quality and value. The joys of learning to ride for the first time, sharing an excursion with friends, proudly completing a new training regime or enjoying a local scenic route are all best enjoyed on a Schwinn.
Just like the original bikes made by Ignaz Schwinn, you can count on Schwinn to innovate in ways that enhance and simplifiy the riding experience for all generations of fans.
Enjoy the freedom of riding a Schwinn bicycle.

Top Customer Reviews
When Compared to the Radio Flyer:
- It has a lower center of gravity, so it is MUCH more difficult to tip over. This is most noticeable on sharp turns. The Radio Flyer has a strong tendency to topply over while the Schwinn has no issues.
- Since it is lower it can also be ridden without pedaling the pedals. The Schwinn Roadster can be ridden like a scooter.
- Can easily and confidently be ridden in grass. The Radio Flyer does seem to go as well in grass.... and of, it is more prone to tip over.
- When the neighborhood kids come over they tend to pull-out the Schwinn Roadster before the Radio Flyer.
While I can't comment for every child, but our daughter (as seen in the video) is about 27 months (and 36" tall) and she is still a little too small for both her Radio Flyer and the Schwinn. She still gets lots of use out of her Roadster as using it as a scooter (also in the video). She loves the bell and the pink frame.
Overall construction on the Schwinn Roadster seems to be very good. Little if any plastic is used, the tires are completely inflatable, the tubing is thick steel and has nice solid welds. I also noticed that the paint seems to be chip resistant... maybe a powder coat?
Final Verdict - Not much negative I can say about the Schwinn Roadster - this is a very easy recommendation.
"Thank you for contacting us. The minimum height and age recommendation for the Schwinn Roadster is 3 yrs, 38" and up. I will be sure to have the boxes looked at to verify what they say."
Yes, apparently they've made a pretty big mistake on the box, but the fact that the minimum is 38" makes total sense. I hope this helps.
the rear axle does not have ball bearings so i took it apart and put grease on the bushings..attaching a photo to show what i did..
i seen from another reviewer that they had water damage after water was spilt on the back wooden board..so i took it off and the chrome ring around it and sanded it down with 200 grit sandpaper and gave it 5 coats of minwax acrylic clearcoat ..o my it shines now plus should help protect for years to come ..
the front wheel does have ball bearings so i put a couple of drops of oil in there.just help it last longer..
the rear tires are a pain to inflate ..tried to put air in them and the tire pops off the rim..so i used painters masking tape and got the tire where i wanted it and wrapped tape around tire and rim so the tape would hold in place while inflating ..worked like a charm..see attached photo ..
all in all we love it and our little one does too..hope this helps others to decide on a good fit for there little angel
