I was impressed with the ride on that first outing, but puzzled by how to operate the integrated shift/break. It is easy to use but not at all intuitive.
I noticed that the wheels were not quite centered, and the brakes needed adjustment, so I took it in to my local bike shop and had them tune it up for me. They adjusted the brakes and gears, measured me for best seat fit, showed me the optimal setup for the handlebars, and most importantly showed me the very simple operation of the gearshift mechanisms. After that, I took it for my first longish ride and it performed brilliantly! I’ve had it out every day for a week now and it has been a real pleasure. Now that I’m accustomed to how the gears work, shifting is smooth and simple. The integrated shift/break mechanisms mean my hands don’t have to leave the handles to brake or shift!
Size-wise, the standover height of 32.25 inches is just right for me at 5’11” tall. The distance between seat and handlebars is perfect, and the pedals are just right too.
Overall, this is a rock solid and reliable road bike, superbly designed and very enjoyable to ride. Be warned: with its smooth and responsive gears, and 14 possible configurations, and the oversized road tires, this bike wants to go fast!
Pros: easy assembly, comfortable size, lightweight, quick release front wheel and seat, Shimano integrated break/gear shifts, smooth and comfortable ride. Looks sporty too!
Cons: seat is a bit hard. No air pump included. Diagrams in user manual aren’t very clear!
