In this day of electronic games and gadgets, sometimes you want your kid to experience the toys of yesterday that are innocent and simple.
This Schylling Classic Tin Kaleidoscope is one such toy I highly recommend.
I got two toddlers who are fascinated by this toy even after use of many months. They will take breaks from their games and computers to see what the daylight has brought them when they view their Kaleidoscope. They say it is different every time and day. Therein lies the magic of this toy. Depending on light intensity and what you are looking at, the images will vary...and further variations due to the toy jewels moving inside every time you pick up the Kaleidoscope.
Today is the weekend right before Christmas and I enclose a picture (untouched and unedited) for your review of what this little toy will show you on a given day. Kids love it. Therefore, I love it.
It would be a nice product if they didn't treat them like crap when sending them to you. Rolling each in a piece of old newspaper would have prevented the dilemma of whether to seriously go through the trouble of shipping it back or simply not bothering getting another one.
Update: After contacting Amazon about the issue they sent me two replacements, free of charge. These came well packaged and in good condition. The Kaleidoscopes are decent given the price, but could use a more varied bead selection. I'm sure my nephews will love them.
Memories, ah, take me back. This looks like the one I had as a child. I would sit forever looking out the window at the pretty designs being made.
Just had to get one for my Granddaughter this year. I hope she loves it as much as I did.
Now, this is really nice, but it doesn't have as many colors as mine did as a kid. But it has a LOT of jewels that you swirl around... It is not as Tight as the one I had as a child, there is a little play to it, but that is okay too.
I sat for a good 10 minutes playing with it, trying all different ways of making patterns. Definitely worth the money. Better than any others I have seen, especially at this price!
Not mine. It's the hard cardboard. OK patterns. Not as impressed as the other reviewers.
Hoping to be "wow'd". Not the case.
And I'm sure my grandkid will also be underwhelmed.
Too bad about the metal........
