What sets this book apart from the thousands of others is that it goes beyond "how" to raise and train a healthy dog, and more importantly gives the reader the "why" of canine behavior. Covering topics ranging from enrichment, cognition, the science of humane dog training, physical wellness and end of life decisions, the book is easy to read, beautifully illustrated and lists references and additional resources throughout.
I highly recommend this read for both new and experienced dog owners, trainers, and anyone who works with companion dogs. And The Bark Magazine agrees, listing "The Science Behind a Happy Dog", as one of the top choices for their 2017 Reading List.
