I love this book and recommend it to all of my clients. Using the most up to date canine research, the authors address both the science behind raising a well-behaved dog as well as useful, logical, and practical ways to solve some of the most common behavior problems.

What sets this book apart from the thousands of others is that it goes beyond "how" to raise and train a healthy dog, and more importantly gives the reader the "why" of canine behavior. Covering topics ranging from enrichment, cognition, the science of humane dog training, physical wellness and end of life decisions, the book is easy to read, beautifully illustrated and lists references and additional resources throughout.

Love this book. I spent hours reading many different books in dog behaviour and training and I could have saved it all by reading this one book. It is so comprehensive. You can look at the table of content and choose what you want to know to train a specific area or ready it from beginning till the end. I especially love that this book covers nutrition and health, as this is often missed out or not scientifically presented. I really like that it is easy to read and yet covers a lot of science in a very digestible way. This book is perfect for professional dog trainer or other animal professional as well as for dog owners who wants to learn more and beyond.
