From the Back Cover
BUSINESS / SELF-HELP " Wattles offers techniques for getting in tune with one' s deeper self and thus creating a channel of communication between oneself and universal energy. His is a gentle philosophy that excludes competition, cheating, and lording it over one' s fellows when one has made it, and encourages cooperation." --Publisher' s Weekly In his bestselling book, Wallace D. Wattles explains that " universal mind" underlies and permeates all creation. Through the process of visualization, we can engage the law of attraction--impressing our thoughts upon " formless substance" and bringing the desired object or circumstances into material form. The author emphasizes the critical importance of attitude: only by aligning ourselves with the positive forces of natural law can we gain unlimited access to the creative mind and its abundant rewards. The Science of Getting Rich holds the secret to how economic and emotional security can be achieved in a practical, imaginative, and noncompetitive way, while maintaining a loving and harmonious relationship with all of life. By living in accordance with the positive principles outlined in this book, we can find our rightful place in the cosmic scheme and create for ourselves an environment in which to grow in wealth, wisdom, and happiness.WALLACE DELOIS WATTLES (1860-1911) was the author of numerous books, the best known of which is The Science of Getting Rich. He experienced failure after failure in his early life until after many years of study and experimentation he formulated a set of principles that, with scientific precision, create financial and spiritual wealth. He died a prosperousman in 1911. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Finally I ran out of those, and in the interim I reluctantly felt I should give this book one more try... I'm SO GLAD I DID! It turns out this book was written in 1910 (woulda helped me had I checked the copyright to begin with-explains the language anyway) OUT OF ALL THE LAW OF ATTRACTION AND SUCCESS BOOKS I'VE READ SO FAR, THIS BOOK IS THE BEST, AND THE ONLY ONE I CARRY EVERYWHERE AND REFER TO DAILY. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Mind you this was written BEFORE the term "Law of Attraction" was thrown about with regularity. It's fabulous, and gives a concise and clear modus operandi to achieve your dream life, even if your present situation really sucks. Wallace Wattles reminds us that it is a Certain Way of thinking, and living, that produces with certainty the life we create. I will absolutely buy this for everyone I care about.
I have bought several copies to give to all my friends, and I hope they learn it by heart.
Here is what I recommend to make the most of it:
Beware of the prejudices you have accumulated throughout your life and your culture. For instance, the title of this book would have thrown me off, because I feared it would contradict my core beliefs as a Christian. It did not. In fact it not only reinforced them, and made certain things even more clear. Whether this or another preconceived idea you have, replace words used by the author by words that are more welcoming to you and the times we are living. Perhaps instead of “rich”, choose “life”, or instead of “original substance”, choose “God”. Remember this book was written more than 100 years ago.
One thing is certain, if you can ignore the references given in the preface, and are able to endure some of the uncommon language up to the chapter “How riches come to you”, you will most certainly get pumped from the chapter “Gratitude” onwards.
One last thing, the audible version is fantastic and makes it even more convenient to absorb the content more rapidly and deeper. It is profound, and it is taking me several times to absorb it properly.
By the way, even if you are not thinking or wanting to get rich, I believe it will benefit your life.
I absolutely love this book--so much so that I'm teaching it.
