On some of the pose pages the text is very small and light grey. The result is I can't really read a large majority of the book in the evenings.
Maybe they should have just used black font on white background, made the pictures smaller, or added a few additional pages.
I like the anatomy portion in the front of the book, but this information will be a bit too in depth and scientific for many.
I would have liked more poses to be covered. The addition of a sort of reference table of muscle, joint, and other body systems affected by each pose would have also been helpful. That way I could look at what poses I wanted to do to target certain areas when planning my yoga session.

I have shown this book to a few of my students and they love it too. It's not just for teachers but is one of the best all rounder books I have bought in a while.
So, when I came across Ann's book "Science of Yoga: Understand the Anatomy and Physiology to Perfect your Practice" I knew I had to buy it immediately! When it came, I read it quickly from cover to cover and it was absolutely fantastic. After an introduction, it moved into breaking down some of the most loved asanas one by one, first at a glance and then with a closer look.
While the science behind yoga is still very much being explored, the book explained simply yet comprehensively what each asana does to the body scientifically. The diagrams are colourful and clear, and this really should be a book that every modern yogi or yoga teacher has in their book shelf. I highly recommend it.
