This is one of those rare times I give a book five stars. It has a little bit of everything. First and foremost, the author writes from both Wendy and Janet's point of view and does a remarkable job distinguishing between the two. Wendy has the most acerbic, yet charming sense of humor and while Kaplan was writing from her point of view, I was laughing out loud and highlighting parts on my Kindle that were too funny not to save. When the author is writing from Janet's point of view, the book is more serious with a very introspective feel. This is a romantic comedy, workplace and age-gap romance. It also has a few steamy scenes that are unique and Gal Godot even makes a guest appearance. I was captivated the entire way. I saw the ending coming by the time I was 60% in, but I didn't care. The execution was excellent and it was very unique. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
The most interesting part for me was that I knew it was a BDSM inspired title and there was a phase in the middle where I was actually unsure who would end up being the Dom and who the Sub (though it did end up going the way I "expected").

If you like the humour of this, try Robin Alexander. If you like the kink select some of Meghan O brien, or Rhavensfyre. You might also like Camryn Eyde's Short story collection. For a darker read, try Shadowlands by Radclyffe.
The author has a particularly quirky style that really appealed to me. The humour, the original one-liners, and while its basically an office romance, the fact that the women are engineers for a company delivering killing machines kinda changes the feel a tad. it is not a love mush romance. The nature of the attraction is in keeping with their intellect and interests. The cold of machinery that gets very hot when used. For lesfic readers who want sharp humour and steamy sex this is a winner.
Edit: finished the book now! It was incredible all the way through and I loved every minute, wherever I could tear my eyes away from the page I'd write post after post to my friends telling them to read this book!
