This is a great story that my three year old son and I read frequently. There is a bit of plot borrowing when Scooby-Doo and Shaggy leave breadcrumbs on the trail as markers to return by, but it's forgive-able. There is a scene where squirrels throw nuts on Shaggy's and Scooby-Doo's heads, which takes me back in memories to a house I lived in that was surrounded by such mischevious squirrles. This isn't the best in the series, but we do enjoy it quite a bit.

I don't get it. I've never liked Scooby Doo as a kid, but my 5 year old has discovered them via Netflix, so we got him this for Christmas. It's a simple story for a child learning to read. If your kid likes Scooby Doo, you can't go wrong with this book and others like it.

I brought these books for my 5 year old son, who is beginning to read with greater fluency and was getting bored with the Oxford Reading Tree books. They are good early readers, not too hard, and the pictures and familiar characters helped him with the names (always hard with new readers). The story reads like a Scooby Doo cartoon, with Shaggy and Scooby scared over what turns out to be nothing, but he liked it and felt he was reading a 'proper' book. They are very slim and the pictures are all in colour. All in all, a good buy.
