Shane Mckenzie was my favorite even as i read Cade. So authoritative, so strong, so stubborn, and yet the little boy who always had the spine of a true McKenzie. His story, along with the brilliance and courage of Dr. Lacy Shaw, was a perfect match made by the brilliance of Mckenzie Securities. I'd love to see more of these characters in many many more stories, and though the last bachelor in the family has been snatched up, I can't help but feel that there are others who consider themselves part of this wonderful family, and those would give us great stories. Great job done by Ms. Liliana Hart, you are a genius, and i can't thank you enough for this great ride along all the beautiful Mckenzie guys and gals. Thank you'''''
Shane. Oh, Shane.
Lacey. Oh, Lacey.
Last we saw Shane Mackenzie he was not doing very well adjusting to being an amputee. He is mean and angry and I think a little feeling sorry for himself.
Lacey is a pawn for Declan, who seems to know things he shouldn't or at least he minuplates things to go his way. Lacey has been alone her whole life, not in a literal sense but her family life was cold and her parents didn't want a child it seems they wanted an instant genius. She is alone, and she feels it. No matter what the Mackenzie say or do she stays away from them as she doesn't feel like she belongs anywhere.
Shane is hurt and angry, at times self absorbed and mean. The big bad LT. isn't what he use to be. Enter Lacey, The Captain. She out ranks him and is a take no prisoners kind of gal. She is given the task to pick him up and make him live. She does in spades. Although this was a rememberance of past books for a good quarter of the book, it is another window into what was going on from a different stand point.
As this is the last Mackenzie book, I am so so sad at the ending. Although this is a story of hope and love the shocking occurrences with stay with me forever. If you are a MacKenzie fan like I am (I have every single book) you don't want to miss this last book. I am sad there will be no more and maybe if we ask nicely Liliana will give us a catch up story for some closure. I need to know they are ok...
