Please be warned **SPOILERS**

Did I read the same book as everybody else?? Let me start by saying that the book wasn't horrible. But it wasn't great either.

My first issue with the book was our heroine. For one, I found it extremely hard to like her. She was depressing! Pretty much throughout the entire book all she does is pine, reminisce and rehash past events with Dylan. I can understand being hurt by someone, but the time span has been over a 3 year period and over that time, she has not moved on or attempted to be happy in her life AT ALL. If there is one thing I can't STAND in a book, its weak leading women, who let men break them and become shells of who they used to be. This is what you get with Jules. She annoyed me to no end. I also had a really big issue with her relationship with Brandon (is that even his name? I literally just finished the book and I cant even remeber it). In any case, I was confused by their relationship. It seems to me that he plays the role of the best friend who is in love with our leading lady. And instead of setting boundaries or encouraging him to find happiness elsewhere, she chooses to keep him on a string where she sleeps in the same bed with him and allows him to cuddle her when she KNOWS he has feelings for her (albeit this only happens once but still). She stays over at his house all the time, has things she keeps in his bathroom and all over his house. But its ok, because she deems those things "insignificant". I really just wanted him to cut her loose and find someone else worth his time. Her relationship with him seems cruel and unfair on Brandon. I struggled to understand what is so great about Jules. I've just finished the book, and I'm STILL struggling to understand.

I am a big fan of serial series'. As soon as I saw that S.L. Scott was writing one, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and read it. I dropped everything that I was doing to read this and I was not disappointed!

Scorned follows the story of Juliette and Dylan. Juliette was happy and in love, until Dylan broke her heart. Now, she is someone completely different, numb, desperately trying to move on with her life....Three years later, she bumps into the one person she thought she'd never see again. Now her thoughts are consumed with him, wondering how did things go so wrong and why is he all the sudden back. And this is all happening when she finally decides to take a chance on Austin-I can't wait to see where the story goes with this!

Dylan...He broke Juliette's heart thinking that he was missing out, you know the whole the grass is greener on the other side bit. But, things didn't work out as planned and now he's left with regrets....

Scorned is filled with angst, passion, betrayal and having you asking questions and wanting more! I for one can't wait to get my hands on the next installment!!!

*****I was gifted an ARC copy of this book from the author. This is my fair and honest review*****

S.L. Scott has done it once again! She has lured me in and held me captive. The story gripping me from the first word and not letting go even after the conclusion of book 1. The story had all the key components I look for in a book! It was filled with heartbreak, regrets and passion. The perfect recipe for perfection! The story is weaved together by the present and past. The memories offering a glimpse into the betrayal Juliette was made to endure. She is forced to relive her past pain all whilst trying to move on and make a future. S.L. Scott is a gifted story teller and I wait on baited breath for the next installment in this riveting series! September can not come soon enough.

**I received an e-book ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

When I heard S.L. Scott had a new serial coming out, I got a little excited. No, that's not true - I got way excited. Scott is one of my favorite indie authors, and I've always enjoyed her work. Scorned, the first book in the From the Inside Out serial, was no different. I enjoyed every minute of it.

The title of this piece was enough alone to make me want to read it. After all ... "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." I think it's safe to say that most women have been there at one point in time - rejected, angry, looking for a way to move on, maybe even ready to dish up a nice, cold serving of revenge. That's where Jules - known pre-breakup as Juliette - is at when the book opens. She was hurt three years earlier, and though she's tried to move forward, what she's actually done is put a nickel sized bandage on a gaping wound. She goes through the motions every day, finds comfort in her best friend, and tries not to think about Dylan, the man who broke her heart.

This mode of operation works fine, until Dylan wanders out of her memories and back in to her life. The man who ceased to exist for so long is suddenly everywhere, and Jules has a hard time, to say the least, reconciling her feelings and figuring out exactly what she wants to do.

I enjoyed the cast of characters Scott created with this story. Brandon seems very much like the boy next door, though I question whether his intentions are honorable or not. Austin has it all - good looks, money, and charm - but he also has class and humbleness, which make me hope he'll play a big role in the rest of the serial.
