There is A.LOT. more to Elle's story and I'm not going to post spoilers. You will need to buy it yourself if you want your curiosity satisfied. I will say that I couldn't put it down and finished the book the same day I downloaded it to my kindle reader. Was I entertained? Short answer is YES, the longer answer is AND SO MUCH MORE.
I could not quit reading all day! As the story unfolded I was captivated. Like the classy lady she is, she was able to share the joys and sorrows of her story without totally vilifying El Capitan and Yoga Girl. She does use the F word quite freely, especially in the midst of the Yoga Girl section...but it didn't shock me. NOT because it doesn't shock me...but because it totally gives voice and depth to her pain.
Yes, it's not the most "polished" literary piece. Yes, she does have a potty-mouth. Yes, she wears her entire heart on her sleeve. But the book is 100% her voice. Amazing. Raw. Honest. Real.
Good job Elle! I am proud of you for sharing your story. I will continue to be a faithful reader until you no longer have a voice.
I met her in May right after El Capitan was exposed for the cheating man that he was. We had no idea, she was professional and funny, even after photographing our large 16-person family! And carrying all that pain.
The book made me smile and made me mad (at the cheating hubby and the idiot girlfriend). Reading the book, I felt as if I were going through the good times and the bad times with her. Divorce is devastating enough without all the crap that she had to go through.
So, Elle, all I can say is Bravo! You are an amazing woman and mother! You are an inspiration to me and I wish you only the best.
I am looking forward to the sequel!
