Top Customer Reviews
Ordered it from DoroSports Store® & Emporium as their price was a couple dollars cheaper.
What they sent me is definitely not the real Scotch Brite product - just a cheap green pad that looks similar from a distance.
There was no box or other packaging to indicate these were Scotch Brite pads, and upon first use I discovered that they begin to dissolve immediately upon contact with water. Not exactly what you want from a heavy duty scouring pad.
I almost didn't bother taking the time to write this review since it's only about $11 wasted, but figured the info might be useful to others.
I see now that there are other customers with my exact complaint who have purchased this product from DoroSports. Hey Amazon, if you see your sellers substituting counterfeit product, perhaps you might want to have a talk with them??
This is the only scrubber that I need and use. Sponges / sponge scour combos get sooo gross soo fast, and brushes -meh. I use these until they're not worth using -without ever worrying about smell / bacterial growth; just clean them with some Dawn while cleaning the sink. Solid for everything from dishes to non-stick to cast iron, and always destined for a final use of cleaning my bike chain.
I cut each pad into four pieces. So this 20 pack is overkill. If I wasn't buying for 3 households, it would easily last me 2 years. And honestly, I've bought the cheap scouring pads from Family Dollar. These are better. Yet I'd buy the others (at this price point) that are almost as effective -despite not lasting quite as long. Buy without hesitation.
A couple of years ago a long-term friend with about 70 years of woodworking experience suggested these to me, and he was right.
They are EXCELLENT for this purpose (and they are also great when you're cleaning rust of a cast-iron table top like a table- or band-saw or a jointer -- I use a rubber wheel and an electric drill (with the WD40 rust remover -- <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083V8JP6?keywords=WD%2040%20rust%20remover&qid=1458239328&ref_=sr_1_cc_1&s=aps&sr=1-1-catcorr> spray bottle or <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083V8JP6?keywords=WD%2040%20rust%20remover&qid=1458239328&ref_=sr_1_cc_1&s=aps&sr=1-1-catcorr) for the 1-gallon bottle) and it works VERY well without leaving any obvious scratched places on the table as would a wire brush or sand-paper.
I have recommended these to other woodworkers and will continue to do so.
This is true, and massively underestimating how massive these are. They're huge. I cut them in quarters in order to have a usable size. So I basically have an 80-pack. This will take time to use up.
Whether or not it would have been cheaper to make a trip to the Home Depot or general home maintenance store, I am not sure - since I don't like going there. Perhaps when I run out, I will make a trip to price-check.
