My girl friend has an old leather couch with several holes in it. We used this duct tap to "repair" some of the large holes about 4 months ago, and it is still holding strong. For some reason, every store we looked at to find brown duct tape had every color except brown(including bright green, tie dye, leopard print and hello kitty print). It was a couple of dollars more than I would have hoped for, but not outrageously high. Very happy with this product.

I craft with duct tape more than I actually use it for quick fixes so I go through a lot of it.

The biggest reason I like this brand over others is that it's thinner and more flexible with a good amount of adhesion. The biggest con with this brand is that it doesn't come in enough colors for duct tape crafters.

All the brands I've tried don't handle heat well, which means you shouldn't use duct tape on ducts. Pick another sealant method like mastic or a foil tape.

Pros:
Cost! Scotch brand, if you work it out to price per foot is generally less expensive than other brand name duct tapes.
Flexibility- because it's a thin tape, it shapes around things very well and folded seams can be smaller and overlap areas are less bulky
Strength- I carried a duct tape purse for a year. It handled all the stuff I put in it, and the way I bang around my purses very well.
Adhesion- when burnished down, this tape adheres very well, but can still be pulled off of smooth surfaces if you need to. I have it currently taping various usb cords on my computer to keep them organized.

Cons:
Colors- seriously 3M? I'll be your biggest crafty cheerleader for your duct tape and make myself duct tape pompoms and maybe even a cheerleader skirt in duct tape if you just come out with more colors. The biggest competition for your brand in duct tape has colors and patterns. You are ignoring a big crafty market.

This is my favorite duct tape and the brand I recommend for duct tape clothing, purses and crafts as well as for quick fixes.

this is LITERALLY THE WORST TAPE IVE EVER USED
i could have used PAINTERS TAPE and that would have had more Sticking power.
the ONLY task i wanted this tape for.
was to stick a single 22guage speaker wire to the wall for a day or two.
and i even CLEANED the wall before hand.
the speaker wire , having no weight other than itself. has pulled itself off of the wall in ONE DAY
you can see the little archway that i tried to tape the wire around, mainly so it wasnt on the floor and a tripping hazard

i used about 12 FEET of tape. all along that archway and it pulled itself away in one day. im completely dis satisfied

This is an excellent product for leather and leather substitue repair. Thinner than standard duct tape and easier to work with. I repaired a tear and a damaged arm on a leather recliner and it was a great product and is working and looking well.

don't buy this! sometimes you need colored tape for small repairs. I figured I couldn't go wrong with Scotch. Wrong!! it took me a half an hour and almost 2 ft of wasted tape just to get it started. It don't stick well and just a knife to cut it or you will end up will multiple little strips to use. Gorilla brand has taken over the tape market!!

I couldn't find any dark brown tape from anywhere. I figured I should have looked on amazon from the beginning, because amazon carries mostly everything. Anyway I had a small tear in my good livingroom furniture and I didn't want to get rid of the set for this simply rip, but on the other hand I didn't want the rip to be noticeable either. I put this brown tape over the rip and of course the tape blends in right with the furniture and you can't even tell there is a rip or that there's tape covering it. Once again, thank you amazon for coming to the rescue.

The deep chocolate brown color works well for taping around a brown framed windows when installing an Air Conditioning vent for a Portable AC or installing a window unit. If you have brown window frames this color tape looks much better and blends very well than the standard gray duct tape that looks out of place with brown in the mix.
Also a great color duct tape for brown cardboard packages. Well made typical 3M duct tape perfect for your brown projects.

I bought this tape to seal boxes. The tape had a very bad odor when I peeled the first piece from the roll. It was almost like rotten eggs. I can't explain it, but everyone who was in the room smelled it too. I had to take it off the box and I threw the tape away immediately. I couldn't stand to wrap it up and send it back. The smell did come off my hands when I washed them. This has never happened before with any brand of tape that I've used, including 3M. Maybe it was a bad batch. Maybe a bad roll. I won't take the chance and buy it again. I could not get a refund because I threw it away, but dealing with the smell to ship it back was not worth it. Sorry 3M- I have used many of your products and this has never happened before.
