Having used this for a while now, I need it heavier. I must use 2 hands, one to hold it and one to dispense the tape. I also had great difficulty getting it to cut through the Walmart generic clear cello tape, until I figured out that I was not cutting the tape at the right angle. Now, I bring the tape over the cutting edge and DOWN, like I'm going to tape the dispenser itself. Then the tape cuts cleanly and fairly easily. I still need to use 2 hands to hold it down, though.
Maybe some 2 sided tape to attach it to a base of some sort. I'll figure it out. For the price, it's acceptable.
Before, I was trying to cut the tape at the wrong angle. So try different angles before you give up using this.
Cons: not heavy enough
