An entrepreneur, successful businessman, community leader, avid reader, published author and Western enthusiast, Scott Harris is now pleased to add to the list: Western novelist!
In January of 2017, Scott released the first in a planned series of Brock Clemons tales, “Coyote Courage” — a tale of bravery, adventure and romance. The story of Brock Clemons will transport readers back to a time when chivalry, courage and gun fights ruled the days in the West.
In June of 2017, Scott released the series' second book, "Coyote Creek," which follows Brock as he leaves Dry Springs — and the people he’s grown to love — in search of his father. His plans are altered when a brutal and shocking discovery in a creek bed leads him to new adventures, new friends and more than one near-death experience. What did Brock find in Coyote Creek, and will he survive where it leads him? Catch up on the latest Brock Clemons story today!
Scott’s love of Westerns dates back to his first introduction to Louis L’Amour’s works, and he has been a fan ever since. Before venturing into this latest endeavor and longtime dream of pursuing Western fiction, Scott managed his time as a business owner, successful former political radio show host and public speaker — traveling nationwide to speak on a variety of topics ranging from politics and ethics to sports, business, inspiration and motivation. From college campuses and political groups to chambers of commerce and rotary clubs, Scott's insights into contemporary issues and his respect for the audience made him a warmly welcomed guest wherever he spoke.
Scott is very active in his community, serving on a variety of boards and organizations, most notably the Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation as a founding and current member. Scott's additional contributions to the California region are his roles on the board of the Ventura County Community College District Community Advisory Board, Pepperdine University's Seaver Board of Visitors, and the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Scott's other works include a business advice book, “RoadMap: A Guide to a Successful Strategic Marketing Plan,” and a book he co-curated with partner Dianne McKay, “Ventura County Leaders Go Back in Time to Their Twenty-First Birthday.” This year, Scott has plans to release a second book related to marketing strategy as well as his third and final Brock Clemons tale, and invites you to join him on his journey.
