Product Description

Gravilux lets you draw with stars: it’s a combination of painting, animation, art, science, and gaming. As you touch Gravilux's screen, gravity draws simulated stars to your fingertips. You can tease and twist the particles into galaxies, or explode them like a supernova. You can color stars by their speed, change the strength of gravity, number of stars, their color, and even enable antigravity. Multiple fingers and multiple people can touch the screen at once, collaborating or competing. Gravilux was first released as a work of interactive art by Scott Snibbe Studio that was only available in galleries and museums. Now it’s available as an Android application.

Gravilux's creator, Scott Snibbe, is an interactive artist who has collaborated with popular musicians and filmmakers including Björk and James Cameron.

"Apps like Gravilux awaken an 'Avatar'-like sensitivity to electricity in the body, power in the palms and general connectedness." - NY Times
"Every once in a while, an app will come along that has no practical application whatsoever but is just SO COOL that you have to have it! Gravilux is that sort of app." --iphoneapplicationlist.com
"Of the millions of apps out there, none quite capitalize on the sheer fun and beauty of interactivity the way that Scott Snibbe’s do.” --CoolHunting

An app that is relaxing and works well on the KF - especially in color. I do like the demo being in video format, rather than photos.

Mindless swirling, quick tinkering with the settings, or a precise calibration of size, colour, gravity, and space...whichever way you decide, it produces beautiful images across the screen. HTC Evo 4G.

And I can say it in one word...AWESOME!!! Thank you, Scott Snibbe Studio, for submitting this; and thank you Amazon for making this a FAotD (although I would happily shell out $1.99 for this app (yes, it's that good)).

If you actually take your time with this you can create some really cool looking designs. Play around with the gravity settings, start off on the low end. I was not expecting this app to be this fun.
Thanks Scott

Thought I might make a couple of swirly things and be bored.....not. Once I added color I was hooked. Also, if you do a slow, rotating circle....the center condenses, you can totally turn this over.....if you tap the middle ....it explodes in straight lines or circles. Its endless....wish I could take screen shots to print. I like that you can reset it. Enjoy!

This app is addictive and relaxing. Only issue is that the menu is glitchy. At times, only the color menu is available. At others, the main settings menu is available, but freezes. Sometimes the main menu opens, but the color option isn't on it. It's a minor issue though, because there's. no real point to the game anyway. It's just a relaxing way to kill time, and it does that regardless of the specific mode it's in.

Like everyone else has said, it's simple but addictive, especially if you're the ADD type that can stare at random blinking Xmas lights for hours. Also, if you have a rooted phone, you could make this a wallpaper or live wallpaper using a screenshot app or the screen recorder app that's out there.

Anyway, this is a simple but cool app on my HTC Incredible. Just wish I had a tablet to play with it on!

This is a really cool app, and worth goofing around with. That being said, I'm glad that I got this for free seeing as there isn't a ton to do with it.

As a free download, I'd recommend goofing around with this at some point.
As far as spending money on it . . . not so much.
