One of the last things I tell myself before I take the stage for any speech is to "Bring The Joy." Why? There are actually quite a few reasons:

Blog postA simple story for your day…
The “boss” was nice enough to give me the afternoon off today, so I took advantage of a beautiful MN day and went for a bike ride.
It’s hot and I stopped in a suburb called Hamel about halfway through the ride to get water and Gatorade.
The cashier saw me ride in and lean my bike on the side of the gas station. Then, when I walked in wearing my bike jersey, bike shoes, bike helmet, and set my fluids on the counter, he says to me:

Blog postLast week I was off on a bucket-list vacation. I spent 9 days on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jericho, Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Sea of Galilee – all places of which I’ve read and heard but never seen. To try to put it into words is almost impossible.
I've debated about the message for this post. I could easily talk about historical significance, or spiritual significance, or both, by I simply come back to the famous quote by Oliver Wendell Hol3 weeks ago Read more -
Blog postLast week I had one of my most significant and meaningful speaking engagements. It was for League of Minnesota Cities, an organization of appointed and elected city officials.
There were 500ish people in the crowd and I had the closing keynote.
As a native Minnesotan and someone that will always call the state “home,” it was so impactful because these people are the ones shaping the future of Minnesota, especially in small towns like Albany, where I was born and raised.

Blog postLast week I put out a message on my recent surgery and I heard back from many people. Thanks for the support! All continues to be well
However, I had a call with a coaching client on Wednesday and, unbeknownst to me, he’d had the same surgery a few years ago.
He said:

See, I’ve been struggling to breathe for longer than I want to admit, particularly through my nose.
I just assumed everyone else was operating like I was – ping ponging between chronically congested and severe nasal drainage.

Blog postI saw a post on LinkedIn this week about vacations and burnout. I can’t reference the exact study but it said only 28% of people actually use all of their vacation days in a given year and when most decide to take a vacation, they feel MORE burned out when they come back than when they left.
Why?
Much of it is the feeling of being “half on,” meaning you’re still tethered to your job while you’re sipping that Mai Tai on the beach.

What ONE word describes the best version of you and how you want to show up in the world?
I’ve probably asked this question to hundreds of audiences yet a gentleman raised his hand and said something I’d never heard before:

#1 Best Selling Book on Amazon!
I was held back in swimming lessons growing up, I didn’t own a bike and I only ran if someone was chasing me. In my first triathlon I ever competed in, I got three flat tires, quit the race and spent 30 minutes crying on the side of the road, waiting for the “sag wagon” to come pick me up.
Needless to say, I don’t have a background in triathlon.
Fast forward to the present, where I’ve completed five Ironman and countless other triathlons. I don’t say this to brag or impress you, only to emphasize that if I can do it - ANYBODY can do it.
During this time, I’ve coached hundreds of athletes in races ranging from 5k’s to ultra marathons to Ironmans. I’ve done it through my own trial and error and experiences in what works…and what doesn’t. Rest assured - there are a handful of simple, yet essential, tips in triathlon that will make or break your success in the sport.
In this book, you get the goods.
You'll receive not only the 50 Best Tips EVER for Triathlon Swimming, Biking and Running, you'll also have instant access to videos and strategies to:
- Increase your cycling speed 1-2 MPH immediately
- Prevent chronic injuries, instead of responding to them
- Use the 3 keys to peak performance to race your best
- Beat the heat with hydration and electrolyte replacement
- Master the setup and execution of your triathlon transitions
- Stay motivated in training and mentally tough in racing
- Fuel fat loss and optimize recovery through performance nutrition
- “Best in Class” equipment and apparel recommendations
And MUCH MORE!
It doesn’t matter if you're just starting out or if you’re an experienced triathlete - this book will maximize your time, energy, fitness and enjoyment in the sport of triathlon.
Doesn’t that sound nice?

Best Selling Book in Sales and Sales Management!
Have you ever wondered what makes a great salesperson? What do they do differently? What makes people buy? What makes people object? Why will no one call you back? How can you get more sales, faster and easier?
This book contains the answers to these questions.
If you’re reading this, you’re either already working in sales or contemplating a job that involves selling. Congratulations! You’ve got some guts. The Norm can’t handle sales. They’re not confident enough to be the variable in the sales income equation.
To join the ranks of the sales Outperformers, you’ve got to master the fundamental skills. For some, the skills come easier. They are born extraverts and are better communicators. For others, developing the skills requires more effort. But everyone can improve their sales skills if they understand what it really takes to succeed. Selling isn’t rocket science – it’s the consistent, focused practice of the essential skills that drive real sales results.
There are three central components to being a sales Outperformer:
1 - Psychology
2 - Productivity
3 - Persuasion
The book is divided into these sections.
Psychology is what you think and how you think about it. It’s conditioning your mind for sales success. Harnessing the strength of your thoughts.
Productivity is what you do and how you do it. Doing the right things and doing the things right. Being targeted and maximally efficient and effective with your time.
Persuasion is what you communicate and how you communicate it, online and offline. Influencing others through the psychology of our buying behaviors. Master these three sections and you’ll master sales.
The 50 Best Sales Tips EVER is a collection of my best strategies to take your sales results to the next level. The tips are cut and dry, with very little fluff. Some of them you’re probably executing exceptionally well right now, some you’re performing status quo (but could still be improved upon), and others you may not even be aware of. This book gives you a step-by-step, easy-to-digest guide of what the best salespeople in the world do to perform at the highest level...and stay there.

I tried everything. Changing shoes, changing nutrition, changing my running form and changing my training plan. I even prayed to the running gods! It didn’t matter. Every time I’d bolt out the door for a run something new would hurt. I was a broken down, frustrated runner. The most common pain was in my calves and I used to joke that you could flip a coin for which one was going to hurt that day. Because of this, I wasn’t getting fitter and my times certainly weren’t getting faster (in fact, they were getting slower). Running wasn’t fun.
Even though it seems like only yesterday, that was five years ago. At the time, the more things I changed, the more it felt like I was wasting my time. But slowly my running started to improve. My body felt better...and healthier. I got fitter...and I got faster. I’m an experimenter at heart – I love tinkering with different things and trying to figure out not only what works...but what works the BEST. In this case, I was after the secret sauce of running.
And I believe I've found it.
In this book you'll receive not only the 50 Best Tips EVER for Running Fitter, Faster and Forever, you'll ALSO receive:
- Instructional videos on running drills, flexibility and running-specific strength training
- Training pace calculator
- 6 audio downloads for mental toughness
- 8 training programs ranging from 5k to marathon
- 5 bonus videos on barefoot running, overuse injuries and how building a better butt will lead to a better life :)
And MUCH MORE!
If you're just starting out and you think this book isn't for you because you're "not a runner," it is! It will get you started on the right foot and help you get the most out of your running...whatever that means to YOU.
