The Scottish Billionaire: A Forbidden Boss-Nanny Romance (Ruined Castle Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
From the moment we meet, I look in his eyes and feel a magnetic pull.
He's Lord Keiran Greyrose. Wealthy, handsome, with a dazzling smirk and a devilishly sharp tongue.
Renowned for his temper, people call him The Beast.
His caresses make me shiver. I agree to leave for some place more discreet.
He whispers in my ear that he's looking for an au pair to tame his wild daughter.
Keir's rough touches, roguish charm, and slick accent captivate me.
I know that he is older than me and richer than god.
But the moment he kisses me, all my sense of propriety flies right out the window.
He doesn't know the burning secrets I hold.
If he did, he'd want nothing to do with me.
Being his for just one night makes me a sinner, but it feels so very right.
…just as long as we aren't caught.
The Scottish Billionaire is part of a contemporary billionaire romance series from Wall Street Journal Bestseller Vivian Wood. It's the prequel novella to three full-length books in the gritty, raw, passionate Ruined Castles Series.

Kier is a Scottish billionaire from a powerful family. From the moment that he meets Ella the sparks fly and although the night they spent together was steamy it is the morning after that leaves us with a lot of unanswered questions.
This is a great start to a new series that has us intrigued about the characters, the motivations and the secrets yet to be revealed.
<spoiler>
Rich famous guy with some anger issues who is used to being hounded by media, but who doesn't take precautions to avoid this type of situation, is set up for blackmail. Gullible girl allows herself to be used by her scheming father to dig for dirt on rich guy. Blackmailer is killed in front of them. Rich guy basically forces gullible girl to go home to Scotland with him until he can figure out WTF is up...</spoiler>
and the cliffhanger drops as this entire novella is just the prologue to the real story.
R for explicit sexual content and graphic hit and run. Themes include blackmail and murder.
This is a very short novella and introduction to The Beast which is I guess the real story of Keiran and Ella.

My review:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat factor:🔥🔥🔥🔥
This novella is an introduction into the Ruined Castle trilogy by Vivian Wood. All indications show it’s going to be a scorcher of a story and I really loved the characters.
Keir Grayrose (whom we met in the Broken Slipper series) is a billionaire with a title and influence from Scotland. While visiting New York for work, he meets the young Ella.
Ella is ballerina at the end of her career and is looking for what she needs to do next. When these two are pushed together and it’s suggested that Ella become the nanny for Keir’s daughter, curiosity and sparks fly.
However, after a very steamy night together, things take a suspenseful and unexpected turn. Someone is trying to blackmail Keir and now Ella is caught in the middle.
I can’t wait to read more about these two and learn all the secrets to the mystery!

This prequel is a great start to setting up Kier and Ella's full story to come. Vivian captures your attention from the get go, not only allowing us to get a more closer look into their individual lives. Being able to get to know them a little more, given the dual perspective the story is told through.
But also showing how Kier and Ella come together and become entangled into each other's lives with one another.
Although it was a short, Vivian still delivered in giving a story that had many elements including drama surrounding blackmail and betrayal from lies being told, creating suspenseful build up that kept you gripped on. Particularly when it came to the mystery surrounding the secrets being kept, paving the way for deep emotions to be explored, especially given the situations and events that risen because of it.
But also showcasing the explosive sparks flying from the chemistry that was shared between Kier and Ella, leading to some very Hot, Wild and Spicy steam!
With a cliffhanger ending like that, The Sinner definitely has me wanting more and excited to see what’s to come in the series. And how Kier and Ella's story will continue to play out.
Definitely recommend checking The Sinner out, especially if you read and enjoyed Vivian Wood’s Broken Slipper Trilogy.

Ella Washington hoped she would have a future with the New York Ballet but an injury spoils that dream and instead she is left with an uncertainty of what her future will hold.
In comes her dad who seems to have that figured out for her, as he insists she accompnay him to a meet and greet where she meets Kier Greyrose.
These two are pushed together and what ensues is one steamy night that leads to blackmail, danger and suspense.
That leaves us wondering what will happen next.
I like that this series is linked to the Broken Slipper series - which is where we are first introduced to Kier and Ella - as that series had me hooked, so far this one does too.

Yes yes yes
Talk about grumpy yet alluring and Ella is all sorts of sass!
Diving into this series and so excited!

Trigger warnings: some Pam and tommy like shenanigans, complicated marriages, race and gender issues discussed, dangerous health routines for ballerinas, verbally abusive parents, cancer mentioned, fraud.
Basically this entire prequel novella is the trigger warnings.
I won’t mention the plot of the story because I’m too eager to give a rating on why I LOATHED this novella.
Plus the summary does exist so look at it there.
So starting with the review…
I hated the characters, one was too stupid, the other was an arrogant pompous jerk who seemed to shuffle in behaviours or never fix his Hulk like issues with his temper. No wonder his daughter has the same issues.
The heroine is her own special story - can’t stand up to her parents, won’t rescue her sibling from terrible parents, and does stupid things like getting intimate with someone who’s not even sure of their own 💍 status. Sigh…
And then the plot just goes off into various tangents leading to some action like a bad spy thriller with some occasional romantic scenes thrown and some bad acting done by the antihero of the story, and no relevance to some of the scenes either. Sheesh. I’m only being polite here.
Plus the side characters are way worse to tolerate. In general. And yes her friend does suck.
I’m only glad about the cover and the fact that this author did touch on gender and race issues when it comes to the FMC being a poc woman and an injured ballerina. Those people are cutthroat for sure.
So in general I’m sorry but I just…nope to this novel.
Yes which probably means I will not be along for the journey for the next four novels in this series for this couple. Yes 4 you heard me right.
What an hour waster of a novella.
Sigh.
