About the Author
David Martin is a lawyer by training and a retired federal public servant. He is now a full-time writer of short humor and political satire. Dave has been writing op-ed pieces and humorous essays for more than twenty-five years and his work has appeared on the op-ed pages of most major North American daily newspapers including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The L.A. Times and The Globe and Mail. His work has also appeared in magazines such as Newsweek, Funny Times and Smithsonian Magazine. King Donald I is his latest collection of political satire. He is also the author of My Friend W (Arriviste Press, 2005), Dare to be Average (Lulu.com, 2010) and Screams & Whispers (CreateSpace, 2013). Dave lives in Ottawa, Ontario with his wife Cheryl and their daughter Sarah.

I have no idea why these weren't part of the Shouts and Murmurs collection at the New Yorker, but I know they'll be at my bedside for whenever I need a chuckle late at night.
