Started Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil (SBSO) on Oct. 30, 2024. I've been using it at least twice per day. I stopped using some other products because SBSO has so many good things in it for skin. It has helped me to have a more simple, natural skincare.
While I appreciate the glass bottle, I'm not used to dropper bottles - haven't quite got that down and comfortable - so I can't say just yet exactly how many drops I need for my face, neck and chest.
I do some dermarolling/ needling at times, but for basic skincare -- In the morning after cleansing, I apply SBSO and massage a little bit, especially in the areas I'm targeting for healing. Finish by gently patting. I don't massage around the eye area, but gently pat it on. I've been following up with a few drops of another oil that has bakuchiol. Updating to say, around the two week mark, I started adding a couple drops of castor oil patted on top to seal everything in. So far, this is enough moisture, but I'll have to see how it goes for the upcoming cold months.
What I like about this seed oil: The consistency, the feel of it, the light scent. It is only slightly tinted, which adds a beautiful glow. It also seems very healing. My skin is softer and looks more even toned.
I've read a lot about how healing SBSO for skin and that gives me confidence that everyday I use it my skin is getting healthier and more beautiful.

Caused breakouts, turned rancid too soon
*UPDATE (08/21/2020): The oil has gone rancid with over a half of a bottle left. Oil keeps coming out where the cap and dropper meet on the outside. Air is probably getting in through there causing it all to spoil.*UPDATE: There was a glob of what I’m hoping is solidified sea buckthorn seed oil stuck to the dropper when I went to use the product today. Ew. Hopefully it’s nothing bad but probably explains the cloudiness I had been noticing in the oil in the dropper. I don’t know what caused this, I don’t refrigerate the oil. Will follow-up with manufacturer.*******************************************************Original: I use 2-3 small drops on my face morning and night after cleansing. It doesn’t seemto absorb as well as I’m accustomed to with seabuckthorn seed oil but maybe it’s because the summer is hot and humid and this oil appears to be richer than another brand I just switched from.I do have some breakouts from this oil. I’m hoping it’s just purging clogged pores and healing my skin rather than being the cause of it.The scent is a pungent earthy, nutty smell. Much stronger than its popular competitor.Unfortunately, the bottle arrived with dried product on it because it leaked from not being properly sealed at the dropper. However, Amazon was great with rectifying the issue.
