Sea to Summit Sleeping Mats offer the most advanced technology available, providing levels comfort levels, ease of use and durability not found in any other air mat.
Revolutionary Air Sprung Cells - formed by a matrix of dot-welds - function like individual coils in a pocket-sprung mattress. Pressure on one cell does not affect surrounding cells. Air Sprung Cells evenly distribute weight and contour perfectly to your body.
A patent-pending, multi-function low profile valve means inflation and deflation faster than any other mat, and easy fine-tuning of the comfort level. Inflation with one of Sea to Summit's pumps (Jetstream or Airstream) takes between 30 to 60 seconds; mouth inflation incredibly requires only 8-12 full breaths. Deflation takes only seconds.
Aeronautical grade manufacturing technology means benchmark durability: Liquid-extruded anti-microbial TPU bonds permanently to the shell fabric, virtually eliminating delamination and preventing internal mold growth from mouth inflation.
The ULTRALIGHT SERIES features medium-resolution Air Sprung Cells for minimal weight and packed volume. Air-Sprung Cells are the core technology of our Sleeping Mat range. Point-welds create individual chambers which operate like a pocket-sprung mattress. They individually absorb pressure and conform to the contours and movement of your body without affecting adjacent cells – supporting you better than air mats with ‘tubes' or ‘baffles'.
Sea to Summit Sleeping Mattresses will change how you think about sleeping outdoors by bringing you a better night's sleep.

First off, if you are looking for an insulated pad for all-season use, this is not your pad. It's R-value is 0.7, meaning it is really just a late-spring and summer pad. If you want the cheapest, best value insulated pad, look at the Klymit Static V insulated mat. If you want the absolute best mat for all season backpacking, look at the Exped Downmat UL7.
The pad weighs in at exactly 12.8oz on my food scale as seen in the picture. Close to posted specs, and incredibly light compared to the competition. The best comparison to this pad is the NeoAir Xlite, which is the same weight and function. This pad is slightly wider, measuring a true 21" wide when inflated. It packs up to the size of a 32oz Nalgene bottle (see picture).
Why only the 4-star rating? It feels too thin, you can feel the ground on your side even when fully inflated. The mattress baffles are otherwise VERY comfortable and feels less like a pool raft than other similar air pads. If they would have made it a tiny bit thicker, it would have been far and away the best option for ultralight warm weather backpacking, even if it added an ounce or two.
I still may prefer this over the Thermarest, but it isn't as clear as it could have been. Back sleepers and stomach sleepers should strongly consider this pad, as it is super comfortable in those positions. If you're a side sleeper, give it a shot, but make sure the seller has a good return policy just in case.
