Manufacturer for Corsair, etc.
Amazing PSU for the price, goes on sale for $90 as of this review very often.
SO QUIET until full load, where I can sort of hear it.
Don't listen to the DOA guy, he didn't RMA it, and no company can get 100% success with their products.

I'm a computer geek, and I've wanted to put together a perfectly silent PC for a looong time. I finally did it. This was the first component that I purchased. I spent days on end agonizing over the choice of a power supply that would be quiet enough for my new build. This one has been silent as a rock, period. I have never heard it. The fan has never spun, for my power needs have never reached the threshold that requires it to turn on. I found some great in-depth reviews of silent components on silentpcreview dot com, check it out for painstaking technical details and acoustic measurements.

Now, if you're interested in that particular PSU, chances are you're building yourself a nice silent PC. Here's the list of components that I chose:

Antec SOLO case
SeaSonic 650W X650 PSU
Intel Core i7 930 CPU
Gigabyte X58-UD3R motherboard
Intel X25 80GB SSD hard drive
WD 1TB Black Edition
HIS Radeon 4670 1GB Fanless videocard
Nexus 12" D12-SL12 Case fan (to replace the stock fan)
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 6GB (x2)
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus cooler (replaced stock fan with another Nexus D12-SL12)

PC runs cool. It's dead quiet. No vibration. No whirring. I can hear it come to life during heavy processing (archive encoding, batch image processing, HD video...) but otherwise, it's perfect!

Very highly rated PSU. As a user, it was very easy to install in my Corsair 350D case. The modular cables are very nice and lend to a clean build with good airflow. The PSU is quiet. My build has 2 HDD's, 1 SSD, and one highend video card and I still haven't heard the PSU fan turn on. Very pleased and I would definately buy another. This build I got into 'silent PC' since my prior alienware had a loud liquid cooler. It's nice to have peace and quiet for a change.

After reading many reviews I settled on this Pwr Supply. It was a bit bigger than what I had but was able to drill a couple of holes in my tower case and mounted it. I will say it is quiet and efficient. It does hold under the load I have and no problems. I very much like the modular cable arrangement and they give you plenty of extras to match the need. It you are a low to medium power user, this will be a very good power supply. I do recomment it.

Superbly packaged and even the PSU itself in a separate velvet bag, definitely underscoring its GOLD efficiency rating. It's modular, my preferance, since you get to use only the cables that you need, not the whole kit and kaboodle every time. Some cables were a tad short for my full tower Lian Li ATX, but all in all a very solid performer and quiet, very quiet PSU. It was rated as one of the best PSUs ever tested by hardwaresecrets.com

This is an amazing power supply that is definitely worth the price! I recently found that my old psu (Cooler Master) was the culprit of the loud annoying buzzing coming from my computer. It had steadily gotten louder over the 3 years I owned it. After doing some research I found that like many manufacturers, Cooler Master opted to use a cheaper sleeve bearing fan in its PSU. As many may already know, sleeve bearing fans are supposed to sit so that the airflow goes out the sides of the case not through the top or bottom. As most cases are now designed to have the psu fan pull from the bottom of the case, this makes for a PSU that will only last a few years ensuring future business. Armed with this knowledge I searched for a PSU that had a better quality quiet fan and stumbled on Seasonic. I liked the idea of a fan that only turned on when needed, and a high quality quiet fan to boot! With so many positive reviews behind it, I decided to give it a shot and try it out. Unfortunately when it arrived I found that there was a problem with the fan and it emitted a grinding noise when it turned on, and shortly thereafter shut off. I immediately contacted Seasonic about the issue. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they handled the situation. Not only did they address my concern by ensuring that this is not typical of the fan, they immediately replaced it. I was sent a replacement unit with a call tag to return the defective one so I would not have any down time. The replacement ran perfectly with no hiccups at all. I was able to fully push my computer with barely a hum comming from the power supply's quiet fan. I highly recommend this power supply. With a quality product and excellent service and a 5 year warranty to back it up, it is definitely worth the price!

I've got this power supply hooked up to a CyberPower CP1600AVRLCD backup battery. When I tested the simulated sinewave battery power on this power supply everything worked perfectly. Besides the ability to accept simulated sine wave power, this power supply is rock solid and whisper quiet. I've had 0 power issues with my computer in the past month, and I don't expect to have any in the years to come. I don't think I've ever even heard the fan spin up on this model (the fan won't spin up unless the power supply reaches a certain load). Besides that, the build quality is solid, the cables are neatly wrapped and durable. I found them to be just a tad short, but hanging cables ruin the airflow in a case, so I can understand why they were made just the right length.

One thing that surprised me about this product was the packaging. You almost don't want to take the product out of the packaging, it looks so perfect. Seasonic really deserves a pat on the back for the time they put into designing the packaging for this product. Not to mention the hundreds of extra pats deserved for the quality of the product in the packaging. This really does feel like a premium product.
